why are people mentioning Lapras. the only thing good about it is it's 130 base HP.

weavile definitely for physical attacking. as for special, well, anything that learns ice beam. starmie works.

I vouch for Weavile also, amazing little thing. Ice Shard. <3

Jynx, Lanturn, Suicune, Empoleon, Swampert, Vaporeon, Starmie all use Ice Beam effectively.

Glaceon + Abasnow is a great little team because Glaceon's SpAtk is amazing, but everything else about it is horrible. Abasnow's ability starts Hail that activates Glaceons ability and boost Blizzard's power/accuracy. Mamoswine can use Ice Fang/Ice Shard rather nicely. Lapras is only good for Thunderbolt, Psychic, Ice Bea, and Surf.

My Lapras has incredibly high sp. atk. It took out Lance's rematch at lv. 55.

Anywayy...IMO Weavile is not strong at all. Just extremely fast.
120 base attack. Your opinion is wrong, Jimmy.
Maybe it was sp. atk I'm remembering. I just know that I had a Weavile that was demon fast but couldn't hurt a fly, or flygon.
Speaking of that, is Flygon in this game? He was my favorite Pokemon from Sapphire ....

NOTE: And is Snorunt in this game? If so, then it's evolutionary form is a VERY good Ice-type....

There's better choices for an Ice Beamer is what Mia is saying.

Put it this way. I used a Mamoswine in my run. Ice Shard and EQ were all it needed.
It was a *bleep*ing BEAST.
Level 65 and it took out Red's infamous Snorlax 1 on 1.

Seriously, best Ice type, hands down.

Trapinch is in the Safari Zone after getting the National Dex.

i agree Glaceon is fast and strong, if the right nature, some reason mine sux but was wicked speed
With 31 IV's and a Speed positive nature, Glaceon's speed is 251 at best. That is a sucky stat.

So if I want to use Mamoswine, I need to give it a physical Ice attack to use its attack strength. Where can I get a strong physical Ice attack?

I am just kinda worried about his speed. He is very slow right now.

Ice Shard is not particularly powerful but the user does get to automatically make the first attack in that round of the battle by doing so. Swinub learns it at level 28. Avalanche is a good move if you're using a slow Pokemon, so it's not an ideal choice for Mamoswine with it's base stat of 80 for Speed.

So yeah, Ice Shard is the best choice for a physical Ice attack. It works out decent once you factor in STAB, a good Attack stat and possible super effective hit,

if you go for mamoswine, you've got two choices that I can name.

CurseLanche or Shard. Ice Shard is a 40+STAB priority move that, while lacking in power, the fact that it's a priority move is great. You can throw a Curse on there so he'll take more and the Ice Shard will go first regardless of the lowered speed from Curse.

CurseLanche is a combination of Curse and Avalanche. Avalanche always makes you go 2nd, so Curse's less speed doesn't really do much of anything to it. You throw Earthquake and Stone Edge along with them and you're set (in-game wise).

Curse, though, does nothing to help it's horrible base 60 special defense, so slowing it down and wasting a turn in the metagame with curse isn't exactly good.

My Mamo does not have Ice Shard. Well that is annoying.

Is it possible to make a baby Mamoswine, or would I just have to get a Swinub and evolve it to him (however that is done)?

I think maybe I should try and get a jolly Mamoswine, since it would have increased speed.

Use a heart scale for Ice Shard.

A Speed in crease would be rather pointless. Mine is Adamant with:

~ Ice Shard
~ Earthquake
~ Curse
~ Stone Edge

I actually have a second one too. x3 I think they are adorable!

~ Ice Fang | Avalanche
~ Earthquake
~ Rest
~ Sleep Talk
