Subject: Am I over-leveled?

I just beat the 4th gym leader and I thought that I beat him way too easily. After thinking back, I realized that I have gone through the whole game without much trouble. I remember from Crystal having a bunch of trouble fighting Whitney and Morty. Like 2 hours of constant trying for each. I want to know if I am over-leveled. I have a Quilava(26), Onix(25), a Togetic(25), and a HM Slave (Sentret lvl 3). I am going to get a Lapras and a Tyrogue (Hitmontop) later in the game. Am I over-leveled? And also, what are some level recommendations for key points in the game? I'll probably take what you say and lower it by a few levels

number 20m, if it was me you'd be under lvl'd
I usually train my pokemo to lvl 30 leading up to the second gym

I had this happen, up until the Elite Four the game was easy as pie. Then it got hard...

You're not overleveled. If you feel as though you're overleveled just don't train your pokemons, skip trainers, and the gym leaders will eventually catch up to you.

you mentioned not wanting pokemon over level 70 when you fight red and that you want a challenge? let's say you have 6 pokemon at level 69 and you fight red, that's suicide! ( my opinion of course ) it might not be suicide, but you'll have one hell of a time trying to beat him.
