I'm at Red and am about to start training and my nidorino is level 55 and I'm getting it to 58 to learn horn drill and evolving him to learn megahorn. I wanted to see if anyone else thought it was a good idea.

ps my team is: Ampharos Lv 55, Lapras Lv 55, Nidorino Lv 55, Steelix Lv 55, Pidgeot Lv 55, Typhlosion Lv 57.

I honestly wouldn't rely on OHKO moves too much.

Well yeah, that's why I'm keeping Poison Jab and getting Megahorn. I have OHKO moves mainly for last-ditch attempts.

I would say if you want to use a move like Horn Drill with the aid of an X Accuracy item go for it. Of course that's your choice.

NOOOO, I tried using OHKO moves on him but for all of his Pokemon it said "It did nothing" or something like that. I think its impossible to OHKO any of his Pokemon

No, that only happens if your pokemon that has the OHKO move is at a lower lvl than his pokemon's lvl

Ok I got him to Lv 58 and evolved him but now I'm thinking about switching him for someone else with a powerful physical attack for Red's Snorlax. Does anyone have any ideas?

A fighting type Pokemon like Lucario or a Pokemon with a fighting type move should be useful for a Snorlax.

I usually destroy Snorlax with Swampert's Hammer Arm.

It is also good against Lapras
