I didnt know about red for a long time, so I had a level 90 Typhlosion and a couple other pokemon when I beat him. When Typhlosion fainted, I used a revive on him.

I found Red to be relatively easy, I beat him with:
Typhlosion
Togekiss
Victreebel
Lapras
Ampharos
Tyranitar
All around level 70-75 I'm guessing.

Not sure, certainly not on kanto, I've got the guide Nintendo released but it's only the pokedex and kanto region. In firered the minigames were all on the semi islands which of course aren't on HG/SS.

But I suppose they put in the pokeathlon as he minigamea instead, afterall, they are in all aspects a whole load of minigames.

Bump much?
I've got a level 90 typhlosion and the rest (pokemon on my sig) are late 70's/early 80's. I know I could beat him, but I'm too lazy to get through mt. silver.

Actually, one of those 4 I used was from Emerald. And another was the dratini which is now a dragonite from Clair after that test. Mind you I trained it in diamond and the charizard was from firered. He only one I trained from Lv 1 in pokemon diamond was te Togekiss. Took me about 3 days to train it because I already completed the game, just kept using va seeker

Guess it's just easier to train on D/P/Pt. Especially when you can verse the toughest trainers any time any day rather set times when you call them. It's also great when you have an already trained team for the kanto region when they will obey you because of all the badges
