Subject: Tidus=Shuyin=1000 Years Ago

This has always been on my mind. From FFX we all know that Tidus was really a dream from 1000 years ago correct? Well Shuyin and Lenne where two years after Tidus, but if Sin destroyed Zanarkand 1002 years ago, how could Lenne and Shuyin live two years after Tidus if there was no more Zanarkand? I am still trying to piece this altogether myself, what are your thoughts?

The dialog says that it is during the war
. Also it showed clips of the Zanarkand being ok.

I dunno, I think Tidus is like Shuyin, but I don't think he is supposed to be the dream, memory version of him. They have different faces and I like Tidus's personality a lot better. Even Yuna could feel the big difference when he hugged her and she was like, "whose feelings are these?" and it was all creepy. I think Shuyin might have been one of the inspiriations for Tidus, but I think Tidus is a combination of people who existed then. Like the Fayth didn't remember everyone exactly and a few people got mixed around. You know?

But Zanarkand was destroyed when Tidus was there. So if it was destoryed then, then how are Shuyin and Lenne there? I still am puzzeled.

Because that is not what really happened. Tidus's Zanarkand was destroyed because Jecht was looking for Tidus, so he attacked the Fayth, I guess because he wanted Tidus...not really sure, but I think what the Fayth dreamed, was sort of like what happened in the past, but not exactly. I mean when you dream, even if it is about the past, usually not every thing is completly accurate or the same...

well i could be 3 things 1 he might not be from zanarkand(i m not that far into the game)
or 2 there was a war agaisnt sin and they were in the middle of it or 3 shuin and lenne is really before tidus
on a second thought what Sin destroyed was the dreamed up Zanarkand maybe Shuin and Lenne is from the real one and lived during the war agaisnt bevelle

the big war between Zanarkand and some unknown place broight about Sin so Shuyin and Lenne were shortly before Tidus' dream world

There is no way that could happen (even though the dialog says something about it). If Sin was brought then, Tidus died two years before the war, which means that Zanarkand was destroyed two years before the war. Nothing really adds up here.

wow, the plot seems to all make sense when you are playing but when you really get to thinking about it...it doesnt make a hell of a lot of sense now does it. or maybe it does, and im just not paying attention.

it was in tidus time in zanerkand when shiun was there with lenne in the war against bevelle and zanerkand then sin destoryed it. and tidus went to the future

Yeah Tidus's Zanerkand was destroyed before the war, probably, but its not the real zanarkand or what really happened. Its just some of the memories of the fayth dreaming about their life before they became fayths. So not everything is the same. Your dreams are not the same as what really happened, Tidus probably never really existed in real life. But Jecht did attack the fayth in the middle of their dreaming to get Tidus. so his world was even more different than the real world because sin attacked earlier than in the real world.
