So, what d'yer think?

I'm loving it so far, even though i've only played the Story mode for an hour or two. It took me a while to pick up and get used to the controls but when I did it was like a graceful ballet of death. Diving through windows in slo-mo whilst pumping round after round into the bad guys, and marvelling at the exquisite killcams. Graphics are top notch as well.

Dunno if i'm just not that great at it or what, but I was mildly surprised at the difficulty level. I'm playing on the standard difficulty, at chapter 4, and i've died at least 10 times already. I'm not complaining mind, I like the challenge. The hardcore difficulty will be insane I reckon though.

So yeah, first impressions are excellent. Not even tried the multiplayer yet.

Yeah, this is definitely the hardest game in the series. I've been a huge Max Payne fan since the original, so I couldn't resist blasting through the story as fast as I could to find out what happens (played on normal first). I'm running through it on hard right now. The game certainly requires you to think quickly to adapt to situations and make intelligent use of bullet time; I love it. The script is top notch once again too, possibly the best in the series. I can't play the multiplayer right now sadly (back from college and have shit internet at home), so I'll have to wait a bit to experience that. Everything about the single player is jaw-dropping amazing though, and I'm exited to see hardcore and oldschool modes. The game is too good.

It really is isn't it.....I'm just past the 'Stadium' level and my god, that level was one of the best things i've played for a long time. I just hope the game continues in a similar vein.

I'm constantly being surprised and amazed at the various set-pieces and cinematic bits, and the controllable killcams are a thing of joy. Gotta say though, the cover system can be a bit dodgy, and the 'dodgemove' feels a bit tacked on but yeah, maybe I just haven't fully got to grips with it yet.

One cool thing about the shootdodge is that you can use it even when you don't have any bullet time left, which makes it a great last ditch effort move when someone rushes you and you're out of bullet time. It's very useful on higher difficulties.

Only past the sniper and I'm finding it overrated so far.

Just got past the helicopter part. Finding it pretty cool so far. Loved the old Max Payne games and the music is very nostalgic.

The game sort of spins me out though with all the blurry cut scenes. There's really no need for them whatsoever.

As I said previously, the difficulty is a serious challenge imo. I've just finished the 'Docks' level and phew, it wasn't easy. I managed to do it but only just....Has anyone played it on the hardest difficulty yet? It must be virtually impossible!

Honestly, its absolutely brilliant. You should do whatever you can to get it. My best game for a long time.

I just finished the Brazilian favela level and it was glorious.

So difficult though, I was scared shitless trawling up stairs, in rooms and through doors with people popping out everywhere!

Lol yeah, its kind of tense at times. Theres nothing better than watching a super slo-mo killcam though, knowing you've cleared the immediate area and can take a breather.

Also, it just gets better and better.....I just completed the 'Bus' level and it was brilliant. Especially the last part.

I'd get it tomorrow if I could but I have to get my PS3 fixed first before I buy any new games (see Gen PS3 for vid).

Wow, thats lame. I don't think I could be arsed inserting and ejecting a disc like that....You really have no luck with your PS3's do you. I'd try the BluRay lens cleaner option.

Anyway, noticed you playing MP3 before unclebobert87, what you tink man?

Pauliepoos i played up to chapter 2 and got frustrated, it will take some getting used to. I was relying on cover, but doesn't stop you dying. I need to learn to use Bullet Time and Shootdodge.

All in all, its a decent game, just lacking in a bit of free-roam, which you warned me about anyway
