i have tried pressing b then going to my list of them.. but nothing works... i dont know what to press to use them

i mean like armagettan and hurricane.. not spells....

You're talking about the special sword techniques, right?
Equip one, then, to use it, hold attack for a short time. You can only use it once, then wait until it recharges.
