Subject: Masuda quest - Maractus -------------------------------------------
And so, the indoubitably shiny adventure begins! if patience is a virtue, then Bibarel is a vice
Spoiler:The journey begins!
Good morning everyone, and may I so briefly add that i definately have not been up all night with no sleep. SO.. after successfully executing a chain of 35 Aron, walking away with a satisfactory 2 shinies before misinterperting a "behind-head-shiny-patch."
Now, feeling inspired by my entertaining accomplishments, i move on to attempt chaining an Eevee for my friend, and one for my Sis' ^__^ To the Trophy Garden!
Oh Mr.Backlot, what trickery is this
Proceedingly, I begin to soft reset Backlot's lies until he anounces Eevee! simple enough, right? hehe... And so he says Eevee sooner than i expext, and i go happily skipping into the garden. After searching for a while, i come across finally, the daily garden pokemon!! .... CHANSEY!! .... wait... Chansey??? but he said... I go back to the pompous scoundrel we know as Backlot, and i strike up a furious conversation with him now! [Presses A button with an angry face on ] only to have him lie to me AGAIN.. and repeat to me that "I can find really cute EEVEE in his trophy garden!" .... those Eevee look a bit sick if you ask me ._.
Edit: But it turns out that now someone tells me, apparently it may take about a day for the daily garden pokemon to actually show up... so i guess ill be resetting backlot again >__<
Im in the middle of a chain of magnemite, resetting at 32. i plan to catch around 5-10 shinies by the time im finished~
Going to now be ordering my updates in "spoiler tags" to prevent both crowding, and/or having to erase the OP every time.
Spoiler:On the "bright" side
Hello all again. It turns out that i should have not so quickly assumed the glitch of an outcome i was getting from Mr.Backlot in trophy garden. Apparently it can take a day or so for the pokemon said to start appearing oh well... on the bright side! I finally finished chaining magnetite and may i say i feel particularly proud of my chaining results today! and so here they are!
Magnemites. not Five... not TEN.. but ELEVEN shiny Magnemite! thats more than i planned to chain as my Maximum goal! Definitely a new results record if you ask me :3 ... frankly i was getting edgy at 33 ... but it turns out the fainted "static" ability party leader really does work!! ... but can cause your game to be choppy in very brief intervals... nothing that could risk you the outcome of your chain though~
now if only the ability swarm attracted bug types ....... i mean cmon >.> they have a CHESTo berry that recovers you from sleep status... and it actually ... looks like .....
NOTE: these are not named OR transferred, name requests are currently feasible
#8 IVs: Naive, Often scatters things Ability: Magnet Pull
#9 IVs: Hardy, Alert to sounds Ability: Magnet pull....
#10 IVs: Quiet, Likes to Fight Ability: STURDY
#11 Magnus (mine ;P) IVs: Naive, Likes to thrash about Ability: Sturdy (heh... kinda the ability i was chaining for in the first place)
So if any of these suit your style, you can get special priority if you reply here soon~ (though i don't really have an audience yet.... at all >__>)
Spoiler:Getting a leg up (or eight)
Muahahahaha! I have defeated the most EVIL creature that dwells the Sinnoh region, and that is none other than the ever-lying Mr.Backlot. Yes.. i finally got him to say Eevee, and found out that the last daily pokemon he says stays as well , and guess what... its DITTO
After about ten minutes of SR-ing for him to call out a different pile of BS, he again asked me "muohoho doesn't that just make you so envious!" and i sarcastically replied aloud "Yea course I'm envious, as long as it's Eevee >_>."
and then thorough joy and laughing ensued.
As i had previously stated, i was going to wait a day, and then chain Ariados, because ... Spiders are my favourite arachnid, let alone my favourite exoskeleton bearing sentient life form! So off i went, deep in the night on route 229, cold and damp.... You could just barely hear the grass rustle over the sound of the route's awesome background music, as the nocturnal hunters stalked their prey. Little did they know, they were my prey today.
Many long hours passed, and 40-some Ariados lay fainted throughout the premises. Itc was that certain tint i was looking for, it almost seems to give off a sparkling glare...Suddenly, it caught the corner of my eye! sparkles in the grass, i knew i would find him! What i found was slightly different, a rather Docile female Ariados, halfheartedly searching for food. the catch was an easy one, but i checked it's ability and it was Swarm... then i checked Ariados' moves and was baffled at the lack of bug type moves... i knew that i could find better, so i pressed onward for my true bug-team addition.
Vibrant sparkles emanated from the grass.. speeding past almost faster than i could track! It knew where i was.. it knew WHO i was, and it was only going to let me catch it, doth i prove worthy in battle. And what a battle it was, truly deserving!
Prowler the shiny Ariados is now prepared to become my lead scout/striker on my shiny bug team. Though he was quite serious in the battle and very alert to sounds, he has quite a jolly nature, and he never seems to get tired. I've taught him Bounce, a very useful type coverage move against other bugs and fighting types. not to mention that spiders who go out to hunt rather than build a web will usually pounce on their prey unexpectedly while stalking them.
though I'm a bit flustered that he can't learn U-Turn...... its even a bug move DX but i can't complain, I'm glad i was able to make such a successful find.
and this concludes today's documentary entry. good day~
With proper warning being heeded, i shall now leave it up to you to go to the trade forum XD
So, my mortal enemy Mr.Backlot... We meet again. but this time I have to upper hand, for you have already given in by supplying me with your precious Eevees!.. I don't even like Eevees.... But I was not chaining it for myself in the first place Muohohoho!
i had heard that chaining Eevee was very hard because of it's rarity, and I was prepared for it. Sure enough, after ten minutes of entering patches..... I start a chain of Eevee x_x. But as my chain progressed, i noticed something strange. This is easy even when i slipped my finger and went into the wrong patch, it was still Eevee! *shrug* well I sure ain't complaining. And so i walked away with a nice 3 Shiny Eevee, one given to my friend to become a Jolteon, and two given to my sister, to be Umbreon and Leafeon. And that kind of just... abruptly concludes the Eevee thing how sad.
then i wondered. Do overworld effect abilities and items that can alter encounter rate, affect the success of your pokeradar chaining?
ill have to try that next time....
Spoiler:Luck, or Destiny?
Ahh, what a lovely day. it was a lovely day in Sinnoh, such that it had to be stated twice in order to sufficiently get through to the readers how lovely the current day truly was. After successfully chaining Eevees for my sister and friend, I decided to just step outside and chain something for the heck of it.
Out in front of backlot's manaion, there lies a soggy patch of grass, and a fair sized pond. I decided to go there and start a chain. Roselia popped up, oh joy! ive actually been wanting to chain this for quite some time! And so i happily went about, casually chaining roselia.
Suddenly, at a short chain of just 5, something happened, something quite significant.
At a short chain of 5, i was approached quite unexpectingly.
At a short chain of 5, the shortest i have yet, had a beautiful shiny female Roselia gently walk up to me, she showed a polite curtsey, and the battle began! I couldnt believe my eyes, exactly what i was looking for, right before my eyes!
I quickly sent out my Smeargle, who proceedingly put the Roselia to sleep with spore, and preserved her health with false swipe! I decided i would use a heal ball, for I could sense something special in this roselia's willing appearcnce...
Galia, was her name. and little did i know that this little roselia, would become one of my main members of my shiny team! sporting toxic spikes, giga drain, venoshock, and aromatherapy. man i love that moveset~
but i still wonder..... was i just lucky, or was it all according to destiny....?
Spoiler:Swarming up a storm!
Spoiler:a cold recollection
writing down so i dont forget

I will be updating this thread from day-to-day, especially if something out of the ordinary happens. If I do a multi shiny chain run, i will always post it here in case anyone is interested. Those following this thread may recieve first priority to any shinies i obtain that im planning to trade. [but do not post offers here!]

Subject: re: Masuda quest - Maractus ------------------------------------------- vast im kinda new to these forums <_>
Diamondshreddie - If you plan to trade these guys off, perhaps the Trading Forum for you. Or, if you mean to be more of a Blog, then Vast's advice of trying the PokeFiction forum would be the best choice. Of course I'm no expert... the Pokemon wing of Neoseeker isn't the easiest thing to navigate...
I'm sure if you flagged down one of our helpful moderators Phi or Aether, they'd be able to point you to the best place to plant your thread.
I'll just say that you'll need a lot more of writing for it to be a blog, rather than just an update. So telling us what happened during searching, or what you did when you were waiting for the eggs to hatch. If you're not going to do this, I would advise you not to put it here.
But, if you do, I'll happily keep my eye on this. PM if you want some help with it ^^;
i kinda just made this if anyone was interested, ill be updating it occasionally, and i dunno, if i end up going on a huge chain spree i might do giveaways or give priority to anyone following this thread
As I said, you might need to write more for it to be more of a blog. Look at other blogs to get the gist of how it works. If you need any help with your writing, don't mind PMing me (:

Subject: re: Masuda quest - Maractus ------------------------------------------- kubrik ok, ill give it a try ill look at some blogs, and would much appreciate some writing help, i do rather struggle in that aspect, but I'm just trying something different here, I'm partly just curious to see what'll happen over time. so i guess ill just continue updating it for now until i get a good feel on how to structure it well,
