OK I really doubt this >_> I mean, come on, making the 4th game split into 3 parts, using previously used subtitles? Seems like an unoriginal false rumor >_>
I kinda doubt about a 360 version, but even that is much more plausible than a 3 parter like this >_>
But hey, I could be wrong, I'd like to see what Square-enix/Tri Ace have to say about this >_>

Thats what I don't understand either ... There already making remakes of the first two games, so why would they make more games with the game subtitles - confusing much ??
But at the end of the day - Its not that much of deal ... I think I'll wait for the Tri-Ace site to be updated.

RPGfan.com is a well respected RPG news site, and have been for a very long time. Unless
their source is tring to start a rumor (why?) I'm pretty sure this is correct, no matter how odd it may sound. But then again who knows? Maybe something got lost in translation?
*and besides, it's on the internet. You can't lie on the internet...
-EDIT-Here's the exact translation of that Star Ocean post:

This is supposedly going to be in Fatimitsu's January edition as well.
And also, they are not "remaking" any of the previous Star Ocean games, they were simply ported to the PSP. And as explained before, a concept like this could easily have some sort of reference to the events of Star Ocean 3, where we found out about the Eternal Sphere.

N4G.com and Kotaku.com have discovered that this article is actually false ^^
Aparently it was made as a joke towards someone on the message board be got whored a little too much by fans. The article also claimed that 4 new colour Wii's could be coming out in 2008 alongside the release of Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bro's Brawl ^^
Looks like Star Ocean 4 is back to being a PS3 exclusive for the time being

Neither Square-Enix, nore Tri-Ace are known for their multiplatforms, and I doubt they'll step into that market now either.
And no, I don't include FFXI as a multi-platform

Well, it was fun while it lasted.
On the plus side, it gave us all something to talk about, finally. (Guess we're back to square one on information, huh?)

Honestly, it should've been obvious that it was a fake the moment you saw them say "3 parts" and named them after all the previous games.>_>

quotePress release after the link. All this information was announced this morning in Tokyo, but all this stuff’s directly related to Europe. One interesting point there is that Star Ocean’s not listed as an Xbox 360 exclusive - whereas Infinite Undicovery is - and no other platforms are mentioned.
Take a look.
Update: The issue of Star Ocean’s platforms has been clarified on IGN. From the site:
Square Enix producer Yoshinori Yamagishi cleared things up during a roundtable interview session that followed the press conference. Asked if the game is 360-only, he said, “We cannot announce anything on that. We can say that it will be released first [on the Xbox 360]. Whether we’ll release it on the PS3 is undecided. We may release it, we may not.”
