I'm rather upset with the new Rugby 08 from Ea Sports. I loved Rugby 06 and had high expectations for Rugby 08. But when i played the game i was bitterly disappointed. They have improved the graphics and some of the key aspects of the game, especially the set plays and in the contact zone.
However there are tiny annoying things wrong with the game.
When you are throwing in at the line out and the ref calls it not straight, it should not be a bloody penalty. It should be a scrum.
When playing in multiplayer on the same team, if you go to pass the ball to your mate who is running along side you the player either misses your mate out and passes to the next available player or just throws it on the ground or out into touch.
Another disappointing part of the game is the challenge mode. When i saw that they were classic games from the 80's onwards i expected to be playing with the team from that year with the likes of Bill Beaumont and JPR Williams, not the current team. I think it would have been better if they did they're research and found out the teams from those years.
Dont get me wrong i think the game looks great and i enjoy playing it, right up until those annoying little imperfections of the game crop up. It just seems that EA Sports have just rushed it out with the world cup in mind and not thought about the long term effects of the game.
I hope for rugby 09 they will get rid of these silly mistakes and produce an exciting rugby game that wont frustrate me.

they rushed the game ro get it in before the world cup
disappointing!
and why would jpr be on it he played in the seventies
not 87 onwards

Bit disappointing...but gameplay is still decent enough.

just seemed like a up date to me so many things annoy me with this game lets see what i can think off from the top of my head
Same commentry as before
next to no advantage with pens, if ball goes into touch thats it adv over
players having the wronge postions and country of birth (can it be that hard to research???)
red and yellow cards need to be sorted out
scrums and mauls are a joke
only time a maul is ever formed is at line outs. . .
when a player out wide is tackled and he has supporting backs with him and they just stand and watch as 1 opposing players wins the ball at the break down (why cant back ruck?)

where are the lions??? i can understand if they wanted to remove the tour option for the classic matches (which i must say is lame using the current squads. . . very very lazy ea!) but they should have at lest left them in the game for friendly ints
the silly idear that a number 9 can dump takle a 2ndrow when pickign up and driving from 5m out and seem to be albe to do so again and again and again without any trouble
and about a million other little things that i cant seem to remmber of the top of my head. . .poor show ea i had big hopes for this game

oh no sooner had i pressed post and i reebered this. ..
please ea IF you are going to give us the option of making our own players could you please do the following. ..
allow players names to be longer then 8 letters as others in the game have names longer then 8
and also when a player is in the game.. . as cipriani is it shoudl be possable to select his name for the comentry voice option when createing a player
