Hi,
Just recently, whenever I try to join a server in multiplayer on CoD4:MW, I get an error that says Bad Key Code.
I did a little research and found out that this usually happens when you get the game in an ILLEGAL way.
Well, I bought my copy from Best Buy for $50, so I hardly call that illegal.
I've verified my Key Code in the options menu and I am 100% sure that its typed in right.
I've re-installed the game and that didn't solve my dilemma.
I upgraded to v1.7 from v1.0 and that didn't help either.
I've tried turning off my firewall and that didn't do anything.
Lastly, I have NEVER shared my Key Code with another person and I USED THE KEY CODE THAT CAME WITH MY GAME!
I can't join any servers!!! And now it looks like my $50 is wasted and so is my account on CoD4:MW!!!
Please does anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it!?
I'm very, very desperate! Please help!

Most likely someone with a key code generator has come up with your code. Unfortunately this is what happens when people try to go the free route - it ends up screwing it up for those that legitimately pay for it.
As the others have stated, return it to Best Buy and explain the problem. They should exchange it for you without any hassle. No need to refund it - just get another copy of the game. The chance of the key being randomly selected twice would be minimal.

i have a solution,just search "call of duty 4 cracked servers 1.7" on google and you will soon find a site with cracked servers when in Cod4 game press the "tilde" button, or the one by the left of the 1 button, youll know (

Good luck with it man. I had the same problem on CoD2 and I never knew WTH was going on either.. (I know now though lol)

Also scan your PC for trojans if any "friend" of you have ever sit on your PC and installed anything to catch your CD key and/or other data.

get a refund or tell them they have a doggy key code and get a new one[div align=center][/div]
