Subject: New Drumset Type?
-------------------------------------------
I heard there's a third type of drums out now with 'SL' as the last two characters in the model number (as opposed to QM and EL). I'm wondering if anyone has these or has tried them before.
Although I don't own Rock Band, I play it a lot at my friend's house, and I've noticed the flaws in the drums before. Its a major turn off for me knowing that the drums are flawed, which is a major reason why I don't already own this game.
But supposedly, this new set is flawless. Now I suddenly want to get the game know that I know this. So does anyone know much about these new drums? Are they really any better?

I'm sending in my kit for repairs soon, I'll let you know which model I get and how it works.

Example of an "EL".

All-right, my drum-set should arrive 7 days from now (there was a delay in getting the box, and an even bigger delay in sending it back) so I'll tell you how it goes.

I've been reading about them on the rockband.com forums and no one seems to be complaining about them. If they come out with another Rock Band, hopefully all the drums will be like these or even better.

I have one, not perfect, but the Sock Mod works for it, so it's all good.

I got an EL model and it is absolutely flawless. It registers all my hits, no matter how fast I can go. You just can't go incredibly soft, or it won't register. However, you can still hit it pretty soft if you want to.

Thats when the Coin Mod comes in handy.
I'm either going to put the coins in it or use the sock mod. Not sure if the coin works the same with a QM drum pad.

Coins don't work on the QM set, according to sskitzo/azureritereaction.

Alright, thank you. Looks like the sock mod is for me.

Sock Mod= QM
Coin Mod= EL.
Yes, I was already well aware of the EL having the coin mod; but I'm not too worried. I'm a generally hard hitter anyway.

Same. However, it might always be nice to know you have that to help you out with the parts you end up hitting too light.
Wonder what new 'Mod' will come out for the SL Drumsets.

I'd rather not attempt to mod another instrument, and I always hit hard. Either way, you can still hit very light with these pads; just not so late to the point where you can tap it and it will set off.

Sorry for the double post.
Anyway, turns out Light Warrior had a good point. I didn't receive my drum stand (EA changed the system when I sent mine) so I did a ghetto drum stand and put the Rock Band box on top of the drumset box, a book and a chair between the foot pedal and began to play. Due to my positioning, I wouldn't always hit red (and sometimes yellow) hard enough, thus leading to a pad miss. I used the coin mod, and voila! It's all fixed. My kit is perfect now, all I need is a drum stand and I'll be set to play.
