Subject: New to Rock Band and confused...

Ok, I have not played the game at all yet, I just got the update, and now I am downloading "Still Alive", anyway a lot of songs in the "store" say their purchased, I HAVE NEVER used this game before. Are they free ones? Are they technically already on the disk?
I suppose when I get to quick play I might be able to clear this up but, if anyone knows what it means that in the store they already say purchased I would greatly appreciate some info.
Thanks in advance. (Oh please please, let me be able to play the Metallica Songs on Medium, I'm probably right on the bubble)

I understand what you mean about the 'Purchased' thing.
It's best to ignore it and check via quickplay or career.
They (unless your mum/dad/horse snuck in and downloaded for you.) aren't purchased and still have to be paid for.
It could do with another patch to clear the last patch, as songs that have been announced such as the Screaming for Vengeance Album will appear as purchased :S

I was tempted to click on one, I instead just purchased the Metallica pack. Then went on playing thinking it was downloading, then when I left the game the freaking thing started downloading.
I will check the list again and see if there is one I actually do want to buy and see what happens.
Later today I am going to get my ass kicked on medium. I don't feel as comfortable playing as with Guitar Hero, the strumming is inconsistant (often stiffer, and doesn't do quick not unless you go up and down, I play on medium I would rather stick to just down) and for a long time tilt didn't work, it mostly works now.
Course I have only tried the guitar so far, to unlock songs mostly. One more in Tier 7 haven't failed yet but the last few I almost did twice.
EDIT: (Ok I can play 2 but Ride the lightning is gonna be tough, I have a problem with fast notes on this guitar... so 1, not that good 2, Guitar is also fighting me) Still have to test "purchased" items.
