i was really dissappointed in the drums. i mean all the interviews i watched said they were just like real drums and "if you can play it in rock band you can play it in life". sadly they were mistaken. i am a drummer have been for about 7 years now and the rock band drums are nothing like a drumset they are more like quads used for marching band. was anyone else disappointed or was it just me.

As I don't play real drums, I'm not going to say I was dissapointed because I wasn't really aware of the skill set required for real drums. I also knew coming into it that they meant more along the lines of, "You're playing all of the notes in a logical manner," than, "The placement of your hands/feet will be incredibly similar to that of real drums."
Although it's not realistic, it's still fun as hell, and that's my verdict.

i also play the drums, have been for about 2 years, at fisrt it took me to get use to it, mainly because my snare and toms are set deifferently then the rock band ones, and the kick pedal took me sometime to get use to as well, but other than that, i'm playing on hard now

Wow your wrong. You miss understood. It's true if you play songs on expert on rockband you very well can play in real life. It teaches you rhythm and hand eye/foot cooridination. It teaches you rhythm of songs and viratully teaches you the basics of playing drums.

no i am not beileve me i have been drumming for seven years it is nothing like a real drumset other then you have multiple drums the feet arn't even right because you can have 2(or more foot pedals) they don't feel like the rebound cymbals or drums give. you can't roll on them very well. there all around a good attempt but no were near the real thing. and if your telling me i can drum like neil pert by playing tom sawyer on expert hell you might as well start calling me one of the gods of rock drumming.

LOL! No no no you see if your going to much in depth. Yes theres no double bass. The drums are setup differently then real drumsets. That's not the point. It is teaching you basic fundementals.. as stated before, it teaches you good rhythm and coordination. It's not about how it looks or feels. I NEVER played drums before in my life and I can play expert rockband drums on every song except blackend. My ranks are in the top 10 on rockband.com. So your right, but also wrong, because now I know the basics I just would need to get use to the different set-up on a real set.

however it doesn't teach basics the first thing you have to do to learn how to drum is to read music which it doesn't do. or how to count rythems, or even how to do rudiments the most basic and essential form of drumming. they obviously left the hi-hat pedal out so you cant open and close your hi-hat. the drums randomly change from drums to cymbals, one of the essientials is knowing where your drums and cymbals are without looking and not hitting a drum when you want a cymbal or vice versa which it somewhat teaches but not effeciently. i just don't think it is anywhere near a real drumset or teaching you the fundamentals does it teach some yeah how to hit two drums at a time and how to keep eigth notes but thats about it. i just wish i could take a real electronic drumset and hook up to it then it would be alot closer but then again i would need about 10 more colors for pads and cymbals.

i agree that the drums are not realistic but damn do you expect them to be i mean it is a game are you supposed to play a rudiment on those little pads i have been playing drums for 3 years and i fail to see the how that is possible
