Just scored with Giroud on the Fifa 13 demo.

Hope the real thing isn't so unrealistic.

how are all these Arsenal fans so sure that goals will eventually flow for Giroud?

He looks utterly toothless so far

Because he's looked brilliant up until the finish, something which he's shown he can do previously and it's (likely) just a confidence thing. Henry didn't hit the ground running.

Because if you look at the runs he makes, he has the intelligence a striker should have. He makes good runs and loses his markers. He's just been unfortunate.

Didn't it take Henry something like 8 games to score his first goal? It could be debatable that he was still trying to get out of the winger mentality he had.

brilliant is a bit strong no? Actually thought he was pretty poor tonight

Henry came to Arsenal as a winger with no confidence after being frozen out at Juve,Giroud came after being top scorer in a league where his team won the Championship.

how does his movement indicate he's a good finisher?

Well Giroud isn't a good as Henry. He needs time to adapt. The same can't be said for Santi and Podolski. They've been superb.

You watched our game tonight? To be honest, it will be best to judge Giroud after ten or so games but he has shown good movement (maybe not as much tonight) and it's been his finishing that let him down. If he continues like he has been then yeah it isn't good but just needs time for now.

Torres needed a goal to come good.

Torres got a goal.

Torres didn't come good.

Doesn't always work out even though he's look better now it doesn't mean it'll continue.

Was speaking in general, only saw the highlights of our game tonight and he had some decent touches.

But no it's not too far off the mark, off the ball he makes great runs and his interlinking with Podolski has pulled defences across numerous times already.

Giroud came to us expecting to be a sub, not walk into the first team and have everybody outside the club expecting him to replace a 30 goal a season striker and writing him off after 90 minutes.

don't think anyone's writing him off though? it's just seems to be this consensus that he'll bang in the goals soon enough but he hasn't shown any indication of that so far. Nobodies saying he's a bad player etc..

The media have/are. Have been since the Liverpool game actually.

On the contrary, I can't recall seeing any of our fans suggesting he's going to set the world alight; they/we/I expect him to start scoring soon, but no more than 15 goals a season.

Hart seemed furious after the game and Mancini said Hart should "do his job." Then Mourinho started referring to himself in third person, fantastic.
