Subject: Fire Emblem: Winds from the North [RP]
-------------------------------------------
Chapter I: Clouds of Darkness
Year 236, Calendar of the Alathr EmpireFar in a northern land, a man stood on a balcony of a castle, overlooking the city before him. He wore a heavy robe, for the weather was bitterly cold. Colder than he had ever experienced. He stood there, his body shivering from cold, but his mind thinking of only on thing. He was a man who hardly cared for himself, but he cared greatly for other people - people who he would someday be the ruler of. This man was the heir to the throne of North. The son of the King of the realm. He did not care care much for formalities, so he allowed people to know him simply as "Prince Julius."
It was dark. Dark clouds had gathered in the skies, blocking most of the sunlight. Prince Julius turned his sight towards the clouds for a moment and let out a deep sigh. Looking back towards the city, he saw the snow that covered the land. Very thick snow. People worked hard to prevent their houses from drowning in it. Although snow was very familiar to the people of the Kingdom of North, there was more of it now than ever before. It only got worse every year. The whole land had been suffering from famine, many people already dead. Prince Julius thought of these people. He wanted to do something to help them. He knew he could not prevent the ice age, but he thought of other possible ways of action. He was reluctant about it, but he even thought of leading an invasion to the countries south of the Kingdom. Although he did not fully support the idea, this was indeed what would soon happen.
"Your Highness! Prince Julius!" He heard someone call him. He turned around and saw a messenger running at him. His message seemed to be urgent, as he was exhausted when he reached the prince. "Your Highness..." The messenger said as he clumsily bowed to him. He was breathing heavily, trying to recover.
"What is it?", Julius responded.
"Your father... the King summons you..." The messenger told him.
"Very well... you may go now." Julius gave the permission for the messenger to leave. The messenger bowed again, turned around and started looking for a place to rest. Prince Julius stood there for a while before looking at the city for a last time.
I wonder what father wants now, he thought before starting to walk away from the balcony.
When he arrived at the great hall of the castle, he walked to the center of the immense room. Once he was there, he closed his eyes. Just a moment after that, he disappeared in a bright flash. The guards and the other people who saw it didn't seem to be confused at the show. They knew what their prince was: a sorcerer, and a mighty one at that.
As the sun set, it became completely dark. Pitch black. Even in the southernmost part of the huge Alathr Empire, people were suffering from the darkness and cold. Most of them had never seen snow before. Now it was snowing. Even if their situation was better than those of the Kingdom of North, they, too, were suffering from food shortages. People of the Empire were used to what was held a fact that their country would be untouchable and that their people would never have to suffer of any threat; be it inner or outer. But here they were, the foundations of their Empire beginning to crumble as people started losing their faith in their Emperor. Bandits became braver and raided small villages at will, the Imperial army being unable to stop them as their numbers increased. Rebellions arose throughout the country as people wanted to separate themselves from the failing Empire...
Information and RulesGeneral rules1. PM me your character sheets for approval
2. You may start roleplaying as soon as your character gets approved
3. You're pretty free to create your own content, as long as it does not conflict with my established canon.
4. There will be map battles when going into a major battle. There should be around one or two per chapter. Three is the absolute maximum. I'll handle only one battle at a time, but otherwise you're pretty free to start battles. Remember to ask for permission, though.
5. For roleplaying reasons, if your character is defeated in a map battle, you may decide if he or she is actually killed or is just badly injured and retreats.
6. Because I'm so evil, you'll actually be fighting for survival and victory in map battles, not for leveling up your character and competing to clear the field in record time. Don't underestimate or neglect generics, for one of your own level will be as strong a fighter as your own character. Co-operate and use some tactics!
7. Any questions? Ask me.
(Terrain map of the whole continent and beyond)Alathr EmpireCurrently the largest unified territory on the continent, the Alathr Empire is like a very tight confederation of states. Although the Emperor's word is final, all states - or grand duchies as they are officially called - have extensive autonomy, which allows them to rule themselves as long as they obey the Empire-wide laws set by the Emperor. This allows you to come up with a territory of your own that's within the Empire.
Kingdom of NorthWise individuals and magic users have always had influence in this cold northern land. People there might be more hardy than most, but in the end, they've had to rely on magic to keep themselves alive. It is now the only place on the continent where sorcerers aren't persecuted, but actually well respected and admired.
CurrencyBoth the Alathr Empire and the Kingdom of North share the same ancient currency system. The appearance of the coins varies by territory, but the values and weights remain the same everywhere as per a common agreement. The system uses four types of coins: the most valuable type is the Gold Aras, then the Silver Dras, the Bronze Setre and finally, the least valuable Copper Erakma. While this might seem like a complex system, it is actually easy to convert prices from one kind of coins to another type. The rule is simple: 1 Gold Aras = 10 Silver Dras = 100 Bronze Setres = 1000 Copper Erakmas. Prices for weapons and valuable items are most often told in Silver and Bronze. The golden Aras are used only by the rich people, while Erakmas are usually only used when buying food and other inexpensive stuff, although the prices of food have increased now that an ice age seems imminent and many areas suffer from food shortages.
Affinities and SupportsSupports are special bonds between characters. There are three levels of them: C, B and A. A being the highest level, meaning that the two characters are very close. There can only be one A support, but the amount of other types of supports is unlimited. Be realistic, though. Supports are gained through roleplaying or by already having them when the RP starts. The bonuses gained from the supports are determined by the affinity of the one who is supported.
Support bonuses per level of support:

Formulae and Battle RulesStarting stat = base + growth*(level - 1)
Capacity = (15 if unpromoted, 20 if promoted) + 2xSkl
Physical damage done = (Str + Weapon Mt)(x2 if critical) - enemy Def
Magical damage done = (Mag + Spell Mt)(x2 if critical) - enemy Mag
(zero if negative)
Chance to hit = (Hit)% - (enemy Avoid)%
Hit = 3xSkl + 2xLck + WTA/WTD + other bonuses
Avoid = 3xAS + 2xLck + Terrain bonuses + other bonuses
Chance for a critical hit = (Weapon Crit + Skl)% - (enemy 2xLck)% + other bonuses
Double attack: Requires you to have at least 4 more AS than your foe. Also requires either Pursuit or Resistance, depending on whether you're attacking or defending.
Triple attack: Requires you to have at least 10 or 6 more AS than your foe. Also requires either Relentless Pursuit (+10 AS) or Fierce Resistance (+6 AS) depending on whether you're attacking or defending.
Exp Gain from a battle = 20 + 0.5x(enemy level - own level) + 5x(enemy tier - own tier)
Weapon TriangleSwords > Axes > Lances > Swords. > means that the weapon is advantageous against the following one. If you have the advantage, you gain +15 Hit. If you have the distadvantage you lose 15 Hit.
Terrain TypesForest - base bonus: +10 Avoid. +10 against cavalry. +20 against fliers. +30 against ranged attacks. +1 Movement cost (+2 for cavalry.)
Healhedge - base bonus: +10 Avoid. Heals 3 HP per turn.
Fort - base bonus: +30 Avoid. +20 against cavalry and ranged attacks. Heals 3 HP per turn.
Mountain - base bonus: +20 Avoid. +20 against cavalry. -20 against fliers. +2 Movement cost (+3 for cavalry.)
LeadershipEach leadership star boosts the Hit and Avoid of nearby allies by 5 (Max. +25 with 5 stars.) When there are multiple people with leadership around, the one with the highest leadership will be chosen, since the bonuses are not cumulative.
Attacker's advantage/Overwhelming/Fatigue ruleWhenever you get attacked with a melee/counterable attack, you lose AS and Def. These penalties stay until your turn arrives, so they can accumulate. If multiple enemies attack you on the same turn, you can easily be overwhelmed. The amount of AS and Def lost depends on how many times you have been attacked on that turn. When attacked multiple times, you also start losing HP due to your character getting tired. HP penalties are permanent (notice that they are NOT Maximum HP penalties.) There is a limit on how much AS and Def you can lose, but there is no limit for HP loss. You can fall due to exhaustion. Notice that AS and Def can go negative. So when you have negative defense, you will take extra damage.
1st attack: -1 AS, -1 Def
2nd attack: -2 AS, -2 Def, -1 HP due to fatigue
3rd attack: -4 AS, -4 Def, -2 HP due to fatigue
4th attack: -8 AS, -8 Def, -4 HP due to fatigue
(Max. -15 AS and Def in total)

Subject: re: Fire Emblem: Winds from the North [RP]
-------------------------------------------
Character ListJulius (Legatus)
Age: 28
Affinity: Air
Allegiance: Kingdom of North
Appearance: He is roughly 6 feet tall, but of rather slim build. His skin is very pale, but not completely white. He has medium length brown hair and greenish blue eyes. His face is a boring one to look at, because he does not get excited easily and therefore usually lacks expressions other than his neutral look. He does not really show his emotions to others. He wears a variety of clothing, ranging from his battle armor to heavy robes and courtly outfits (which he intensely dislikes.)
Personality: Although he tries to appear as a blunt person, he truly is quite soft inside. When not around servants, his soldiers or vassals, he is a very modest and humble person. He is not very confident and sometimes loses it completely. He can't stand suffering, but he can try to act uncaring and strong when necessary. Despite being compassionate to the masses of people, he is silent and prefers to be alone or with people close to him.
History: He was born during the Great Civil War of North, when Aeneres the Hero led his forces to combat those of a corrupt religious order that had absolute power in the land. His father, who happened to be the hero himself, was a very protective figure so he never really taught Julius how to fight, but his mother, who was the feared and powerful sorceress Astarel, taught him how to use his internal strength; the power of sorcery. He was too young to make any effort to help his father in the civil war that lasted for years, but continued to train his internal ability and eventually grew to become a powerful sorcerer, despite lacking any combat experience. When his father claimed victory in the civil war and became the king of the land, Julius became the heir to the throne of North.

Silvestro (Legatus)
Age: 16
Affinity: Fire
Allegiance: Alathr Empire Loyalist
Appearance: *A mug will be placed here later*
Personality: Silvestro is a strong-willed and gifted young mage. Despite his occasional problems with his temper, he manages to always be able to use magic. This is because he has the ability to focus no matter what the situation is. He is not afraid to show his emotions, but he never truly allows them to control him.
History: Silvestro was found abandoned near Aldrusahal, the capital city of the Alathr Empire, where a sage named Calanthe, a teacher at a mage school, took him under her care and raised him. When Silvestro turned 12, making him eligible to study at the Imperial Mage School, Calanthe soon noticed Silvestro's almost miraculous ability with magic, and it did not last long until she took him as her personal apprentice. Despite Silvestro's often rebellious attitude, Calanthe managed to teach him the basics of magic quickly, as he possessed the ability to remember almost anything related to magic, no matter what mood he was in. When Silvestro became 15 years old, he moved with his mentor to a small village north from the capital, Calanthe being called there to deal with the many problems the village was having due to the increasingly cold climate.

His father was killed in battle, and he has become a soldier of the Empire in order to get a chance to avenge his father's death. Personality: She is clever and bold, which normally tends to get her into trouble. Though she is intelligent and does what needs to be done.

She traveled to the Kingdom of the North and learned the basics, only to be captured by her brother's men and brought back to Thani. Her brother, Andurro, thought it unacceptable and kept Andarra under close watch. In Thani, Andarra's father, King Anton, ruled. He was very ill and close to death. Both his wives were dead (Andarra and Andurro had different mothers, and Andarra was the older by one year). Thani is a relatively large country in the Empire, and is loyal.Though Andarra should take the thrown when King Anton dies, her half brother has gained followers and means to take it by force. Levin (Eliwood the Slayer)
Age: 19
Affinity: Air
Allegiance: Kingdom of North
Appearance: Levin is above average height for his age, almost six feet tall. He's a concerned-about-everything man who has a face just like Kent's. His hair goes down to around the bottom of his regular sized ears, and his bangs go down to his eyebrows, while the back goes down to the top of his brown coat. He wears a brown coat which goes down to halfway to his knees, and under that coat, is a jet black short sleeved shirt. He wears white loose pants which are tucked into his regular sized leather boots, and wears a white cape just for comfort. His belt is of thick cotton and on the belt, his white sheathe with a silver end contains his father's inherited sword, which has a beautiful emerald encrusted hilt, but blade is worn from use in the Civil War of North. Right next to the sheathe is a regular longsword which his dad gave to him as a gift when he turned 17.
Personality: Levin mostly serious. He likes to joke around with friends and family, and likes to have fun. Levin is concerned about many things, though. Levin doesn't matter if he's alone, or with people he doesn't know that doesn't pose a threat to him. Basically, Levin has a double-sided personality.
History: Levin was born just after his dad arrived in Alathr, and lived a regular life of a retired war general of a dad, and a mother who used to practice sorcery. When Levin turned 17, his father gave him the sword he used in the past, and a brand new longsword. Levin wanted to travel, and his father happily agreed. His mother was a concerned one, and struggled to this. In the end, his mother agreed to, as long as Levin was extremely cautious. His father gave him a good sum of money, along with tips of combat with a sword, which the conversation was kept secret to his mom. Levin decided to travel to the Kingdom of North, where he would stay for a while. Levin arrived, did mercenary work, and life was happy. He managed to live for two years until..

Affinity: Water
Allegiance: Alathr Empire Loyalist
Appearance: Long, black wavy hair that is kept behind his head. Due to a birth defect, his right eye is piercing red and his left is dark green. Has a thick beard. Very muscular, and always wears a long blue cape over his war armor.

Having been around battle in his early years, he of course was interested in it. At the age of 18, he had already completed an 8-year soldier training program, and was enlisted in a small troop for guard of Oushina, his home state in the empire. After 5 years of extremely well-done military work, he was promoted by his superior to commander of his squad. He led them well, organizing perfect battle strategies and keeping everyone out of danger until the time was right. In an unfortunate fire accident, the general of his troop was killed. All commanders agreed to make him general to take the place of the past superior. After about a year, he conquered unused territory within the empire and started the small state of Kowtiie. Ever since then, he's raised his troop to be masters of skill and strategy.

"Prince Julius!" People exclaimed as they gathered around the robed man who was lying on the floor of a great palace lit by torches and lanterns. Prince Julius opened his eyes and viewed the enormous room around him, still lying on the floor. For a moment he felt so small and insignificant, thinking that he would never accomplish anything like this when he would become the ruler. The palace was the masterpiece of northern architecture and engineering that also showed how surprisingly wealthy the people of north were. Its interiors were luxuriously decorated with frescos and statues depicting the history of the North and the world as they knew it. Most of the people in these days did not know the meaning of most of them, as the ancient history was almost completely lost in time, the legends only known to scholars. There was one statue in the room, however, that everyone recognized. It was the largest statue in the room, portraying the best-known king of North. Namely, Aeneres, the hero of North, who liberated the kingdom from under the rule of the Cult of Ice, a corrupt religious order that only spread despair in the hearts of the people with their convincing and powerful speeches. Aeneres the hero brought back hope to the people of North and established a new, just and wise rule in the land. Julius was his son, but nowhere as confindent and determined. He feared failure. He feared that he could not carry on the legacy of his father.
Some servants helped him stand and supported him as he was about fall on the floor again. "Ugh... Warping around may be fast, but it heavily drains my mana... I feel like I've ran all the way here..." He said aloud. A while passed before he was able to stand again. "I'm fine now... you may leave." He said to the servants and gave them his neutral look. They hesitated a bit to leave their prince in that condition, but they obeyed and returned to what they were doing before he arrived. Still shaking a bit, Prince Julius managed to start walking slowly towards a great door that led to the throne room where his father was awaiting him. As he approached, two guards clad in heavy armor opened the door. Starting to feel a bit better, Julius tried to look stronger and walked inside. In the rather dark room lit by only a few torches, he saw his father, the king and hero, an old man by now, sitting on the throne. He was not very close to his father, as his father always used to be away, fighting in battles, and now has given Julius his own patch of land to rule. Next to him sat his mother, Astarel, the queen and a powerful sorceress. Before Aeneres married her and became a hero, sorcerers were feared and persecuted in the North, as they were seen as defiers of natural and divine laws, blasphemers. When Aeneres became the king, the persecutions ended quickly, as no-one dared to oppose the hero. However, there still were some who secretly persecute them, believing that the queen had enchanted the king.
Julius bowed before the king, and said: "You summoned me, my king." The king slowly stood up. He was not that old, but he was starting to show signs of weakness.
"Yes, my son. You may stand now. There is something important I need you to do..."

Levin woke up, from his very short night of sleep. He was up cleaning everything in his small little cot in the cold. Levin quickly got dressed in his warmest clothing, and checked the "to do" list today.
quote To Do
Screw this and do what you want.
The to do list was indeed truthful, as Levin was always never a good organizer. Levin took a piece of hard bread and ate it as his breakfast. He looked around his little house. The whole thing was round. On the right, a fire place which was burned out a couple hours ago. Next to it was a pile of logs, for firewood. To the left, a middle sized table with a pile of food on it. Behind Levin, his messy bed and next to it, a space which a beautiful black hare was sleeping in. Behind the horse was a bigger door so Levin could mount his horse and exit from. In front of him, the wooden door to get out. The little cot was made of brick, which Levin bought from a traveling merchant. The top was created with brick, then straw on top of it. Levin piled some logs into the fireplace and made a quick fire. He then walked to his horse's little spot to
"Yo Levin, we're waiting for you!"The voice was familiar. It was one of Levin's friend and work partner, Aron. Levin got on his boots and left his territory, to see that his neighbors were up. Aron had on his "training" clothing. A giant dark green overcoat, complete with metal plated gloves, hard leather boots, and a thick cloth headband. Under the open overcoat, regular cloth pants and shirt, which was under full leather gear. On Aron's shoulder was a war axe, which was inherited from his war soldier grandfather. "Levin, I got us a job at Seracruz, the local village. Apparently, some bandits were seen from a messenger of the village. You, I, Jake, Keln, and Rakche are to get over there and protect the village. Of course, some villages will help. Come on, let's go!" Levin looked at Aron. "Okay.. Where is Jake, Keln, and Rakche?" Three people came running up to Levin and Aron. The first was Jake. Jake had on animal skin pants and a grey jacket. From what Levin noticed, something was bulging up from his jacket. Levin assumed it was armor; shoulder plates, arm plates, and a chest plate for minimum protection. On Jake's back was a big broadsword going down to Jake's knees. Keln had on thick wool pants, with an animal fur coat. Over the coat was a leather guard, which gave little protection to Keln's heart. Strapped on the guard was a quiver, with many iron arrows neatly in it. In Keln's hand was a full steel bow with a leather handle. In his other hand was a very short sword, even considerable to be a long knife, when he then hooked on his belt. Rakche had on sorcerer's robes, with a belt. On that belt was a long knife protected with a sheathe. As the five good friends had a short talk, they all mounted their horses and raced to village of Seracruz.
Arriving thirty minutes later at the gate, a civilian came up to the group. "You must be the mercenaries. The bandits aren't here yet, so make yourself at home." The civilian led the group into the middle of the town. "Stay right here, I'll be right back." And with that, the villager scurried off. "Huh. Wonder what he's doing." Rakche wondered. Levin faced Rakche. "No clue, but-" "OH MY GOD, IT'S THE BANDITS!!" Someone interrupted Levin, but for a good cause. The group turned around, and at the second entrance, a good number of bandits were there. "Alright, we take ye gold or ye die!!" The bandit in the front requested money from the village. Keln turned to the group. "Finally, I've been waiting to knock this bow." Levin turned. "Yeah. Finally. There's around 15 bandits, so we could take them." The group heard some marching behind them, and everyone turned. Around 4 civilians were dressed in crude armor and all had pitchforks. "Mercenaries, we civilians are here to help you. We are not much, but please accept our help!" Aron turned back to the others, and they all agreed. "Alright. But you might not see the action at all!" And with that, the group of five rushed toward the bandits.

As Andarra sat on her bed, there was a knock at her door. "Come in." she said.
It was a servant, "Milady, you must escape. The King's health is failing, he'll not live much longer. Here, a weapon to fight your way out, now hurry, we must go."
"Thank you, but how did you get past the guards?" But before he could answer, footsteps were heard outside the room. Andarra quickly hid the short sword beneath her bed, and told the servant to get in the closet.
The man who walked in was her brother, Andurro. "I had feared you escaped. What a bother that would be." he said with a smirk.
"Let me out of here, this is not the king's will." said Andarra.
"But it is my will." he replied.
"You are no the king!" Andarra corrected him.
"Oh really? Look around you. Who's soldiers occupy the castle? Who's advisers and attendants care for the sick old man? Who's word is the king's? Even if he wanted to do something about your current situation, he could not. I rule Thani now." And with that, he left.
After about 10 minutes Andarra let the servant come out, "What is your name?" she asked him.
"I am called Wesh. I have served her many many years, and I have always thought the king good and just, but now... now Prince Andurro has taken charge. We must take leave of this place, or he will kill you."
"We will leave at night, until then rest." she said.

Arch awoke from a disturbed sleep filled with nightmares of a horrid death inflicted upon him. He slowly got up, still half-asleep and with lingering thoughts in his head. He tried to think of other things while putting on his cape and equipping his armor and weapons. Combing his hair back and waking himself up with water, he was wondering what was yet to come today.
He opened the door to his cabin and walked out, gazing at the horizon of the hills with the sun slowly creeping over them. Looking down on Kowtiie, the small city-state was bustling with people walking around in the market, getting ready for the weekend's meals. A man was jogging towards Arch, who he identified as one of his soldiers.
"Good, you're up," the man told Arch. "Lookout has spotted a group of brigands approaching the city."
"Ready the archers, but do not warn the villagers."
"Sir? Sorry to be rude, but I think you're risking people's health."
"Our archers are top-quality, as you well know. They are able to snipe enemies off without even missing an inch. The bandits will be injured, and then treated. If they pursue without hesitation, there will be no mercy shown by the troops. If the bandits notice the villagers' panic, they will run off, knowing that we are ready for their attack."
"At once, sir."
Kowtiie was a prime spot for raids. Everyone in the land knew of its small size, which made it easy to hit without much resistance. But of course, no one lived to tell of it's incredible surprise military forces.
"Men, they will arrive in about a minute," the commander yelled. "Ready your weapons, and aim only for their limbs and weaker body parts to disarm them."
The bandits jumped over the hills and ran at full speed towards the market.
"Aim...Fire!"

"Oi, what you doing with them weapons!? Do you want to die?!" The lead bandit started yelling at Levin and co, then his group, then went into the very back of the big clad of bandits. Keln and Rakche stopped at a good point, and got ready to attack. Levin, Aron and Jake kept on moving, Levin unsheating his longsword, Aron gripping his axe, and Jake pulling out his humongous blade. The three jumped of their mounts and told them to run back. Levin, Aron and Jake held their ground. Every bandit rushed toward them, Keln readied his bow, Rakche pulling out his dagger and chanting some words. Moments later, arrows and fire were raining down on the bandits. None died on the spot, but some were terribly weakened. The bandits finally reached the holding warriors, but were tired, injured, and in a bad formation. The front was entirely decimated by Levin's swift moves, and Aron's and Jake's pure might. Keln was about to run out of arrows, and Lakche was getting tired from his spells. The next bandits were a lot tougher, because they were fresh. Though Keln and Rakche kept shooting, they seemed to have hardly any affect on the bandits. The trio had to countlessly parry off axe slashes that would be mortal if they hit. Levin, Aron, and Jake held off until the villagers finally appeared. When they were just behind the three, Levin, Aron and Jake dashed to the side so the villages could stab the bandits in front with their pitchforks. When they were done, they hastily retreated back. This continued to happen, until finally all but the leader was alive. The leader was bigger, bulkier, and dimwittier than the rest. This means the group was in for it. Levin, Aron and Jake ran forth toward him, while Keln and Rakche rode behind the three, shooting arrows and fire. But to no avail. The arrows and fire had no effect on the leader. "Guys, we'll sit this one out. We can't do anything to him." Levin looked back and said it was fine; they could handle it their own.
The group was face-to-face with the leader. His axe was humongous, but worn. While avoiding the leader's big slashes and hacks, Levin yelled to the others.
"I'll go in first!"
Levin sheathed his longsword, and pulled out his father's weapon. Diving in, he ducked under an axe swoop and aimed for the legs. The cut in the leader's right thigh caused him to move even slower, and allowed Aron to get in and get a big hack in the back. The leader quickly turned, causing Aron to lose his weapon and his balance, and was met with a deep slice into Aron's shoulder. Aron screamed with pain, and quickly retreated back some meters. While doing this, Levin was allowed to get four cuts in the leader's legs, with Jake bringing down his blade of doom onto the leader's shoulder. The leader fell to one knee, and with one big blade slice, his head departed from his shoulders.
Levin pulled out the axe, and turned to Aron, who wasn't there.
"Levin, he probably went in to heal his wounds. Let's see where Rakche and Keln are."
Levin and Jake were stopped by the same civilian from the first place, and led them to a small house. Inside was a shoulder-bandaged Aron, Keln, Rakche, a big amount of food, a new quiver full of arrows, and another man.
The civilian spoke up. "Thank you mercenaries for your great deed. For your reward, we all donated this amount of food. Including that, John over there will repair and clean your weapons, free of charge. Thank you again, o'mercenaries."
After a few hours, the group was all set to leave, and raced back to their houses.
Rakche was concerned about Aron. "Aron, you need to take care of that wound. It's a big one, that's for sure. Also, did your coat and leather get pierced?"
"No shit. God, that hurt. Thanks to the civilians, they sewed up my stuff, so it's fine. It's bloodstained, but it's fine. One I get home, I'm sleeping til there's no tomorrow."
Everyone replied. "Agreed."

Tasuk sat in his cell. It was his first time being in a civilized area, and he wasn't the best social person. "H-H-Hello?" came a frail voice from the corner of the cell. Tasuk looked over, but didn't say anything. A man crawled out from the darkest corner of the cell, revealing himself as an old man; he looked to be about 80, but Tasuk guessed that the prison did this to him. "I-I see you h-have a bow..." Tasuke nodded. The old man reached into his back pocket, and pulled out some fishing line. "I'm a f-fisher, but was a-arrested for no g-good reason a little while ago. I-Its amazing I'm aliv-ve... My n-name is Jeremy..." Tasuk nodded again. "D-don't you say anything?" Tasuk nodded his head. "But I think I can trust you... Here, throw me that fishing line." Jeremy threw Tasuk the line.
Now... If I can just... There! He took out his Short Bow, and an arrow, which had the line attached to it. He readied his bow, and waited for the next guard... One came by, his keys dangling from his belt loosely.
One motion... No hesitation... Tasuk shot the arrow.
The arrow went through the ring on which the keys are held, and fell easily from the guards pants. Tasuk yanked on the line, bringing the feys back to them.
Seemed too easy... Waiting until the guard passed the corner, Tasuk slipped the key into the keyhole. "Come on." They moved slowly, being sure not to be caught. They ran outside, and a guard saw him. Sighing, Tasuk shot an arrow, right between the eyes. They made their way to the stables, and Tasuk could only hope that Ginny was still there.

As soon as the order was given, arrows cut through the air without even making a sound. A couple missed, but the majority of them pierced the bandits' flesh like a knife through water. They were instantly brought down, while the villagers didn't even notice the intrusion. Arch and his second-in-command walked down to the scene.
"Your orders, sir?" He question Arch.
"Treat their injuries, then put them in the prison for a while."
The men were carefully hauled off to the infirmary to be treated. Arch was in need of sleep from his restless night, so he headed up to his cabin.
"Do not wake me unless we are attacked."
He collapsed in his bed, fully dressed in case of an emergency. After several hours, his door was thrown open by the lead commander of the troop.
"Sir! An emergency! Your presence is needed immediately!" He yelled.
He still hadn't gotten much sleep, but he didn't seem to have a choice to now anyway.
"Lead me there."
They walked out of the cabin, and upon looking over the city, Arch was confused.
"There is no enemy here. What is the meaning of this?"
"Sir, civilians are questioning your intelligence and rebelling," he informed Arch. "Homes are being ransacked, and the market is being trashed and overturned."
"Why is this so?"
"There have been reports of them stating that getting attacked by bandits on a regular basis wasn't something they had in mind when they settled in this city, even if your troops can take care of it."
"My people would never think that up themselves.
...those bandits must have talked to them. Are they still at the infirmary?"
The commander nodded yes. Arch grabbed his axe out of it's holster and bolted toward the infirmary. Civilians saw him in the streets and booed at him, but he didn't care. When he reached the building, he burst in, scanning across the place for the bandits. They were huddled in a corner.
"Heh, it was only a matter of time before you showed up," one of the bandits said.
Arch tightened his grip and lunged at the man, cutting him to the fullest extent, and even hacking away when the man was clearly dead. The 3 remaining bandits had a horriying look on their face, scared to death that they were going to die.
"Who's the bastard leading this group?" Arch asked them.
"Uh...me," a man uttered.
Arch raised up his axe and brought it down with such force that it sliced through the man, cutting off his arm. He fell to the ground, lifeless.
"Get the hell out of my city before I get creative," Arch stated.
"I'm so sorry sir! But we are unable to travel do to our injuries! Please cut us a break!"
He swung the side of his axe across the man's face, bruising him badly. They got up and quickly limped out as fast as they could.
Arch gathered himself up and walked out of the building to see a mob of civilians waiting with homemade weapons.
"You are the worst general ever. Generals are supposed to protect your people, but we get attacks every other day. Why haven't you done something to prevent these attacks?"
"If I sent out troops to prevent the raids, then I wouldn't have enough soldiers to protect everyone in the first place," Arch told them.
"We'll run this place by ourselves. Now get out of here before things get ugly," they told him.
"What you idiots don't realize is that your own troops will control you before you get to do anything."
"Most of the army is already on our side," they said. "Only a couple of the commanders opposed. We...took care of some of them, but 1 got away."
"You are all the scum of the earth. Someday I will return with an army and slaughter every single one of you."
With that said, he started walking, and took a slice at a civilian on his way out. He ran full speed out of there to avoid getting caught. This message was edited by Dragon on Jan 05 2008.

That night a servant brought Andarra a tray of food, and as soon as he turned around, Andarra took out the short sword and ran him through, killing him without a sound. "Ok Wesh, you know what to do."
"I'll hurry." he said and left the room, the guards taking him for the servant that had just entered.
30 mins. later Wesh reentered the room, "The sleeping powder in their food worked, let's go." he said.
They snuck down to the next floor and stopped, "Ok, you go get Tronur, I'll get Lenore and Lavasa." said Andarra.
"Right away, milady." he said and was off.
Andarra went down the hall as quickly and quietly as she could and finally reached her destination. She knocked gently on the door, then entered.
"Princess!" Lenore exclaimed.
"Shhhh. I am escaping."
"Oh, well we're going with you." Lavasa whispered.
"Grab what you need and we'll leave. We're meeting Tronur in conference room tree on the second floor." said Andarra.
They hurried there, and there were three men inside waiting for them, Andarra recoginzed Wesh and Tronur but asked, "Who are you?" to the third.
"My name is Rusvi, I am a knight in training under Sir Tronur." he replied and bowed.
"Milady, we must hurry, they will surely discover that you are missing." said Tronur bowing.
"Yes, but Wesh, I must ask that you stay here." said Andarra.
"Why?! Please, let me go with you." he pleaded.
"You don't know how to fight, but you can act as a spy here. They don't suspect you and you have free access to almost everywhere in the castle. You would be much more helpful to our cause here." she explained.
"Of course, I will do what I can milady." he said.
The others went down the rope out the window and into the courtyard surrounding the castle. Once they were all down, Tronur scouted ahead and found them a safe pass to the wall. They circled the wall untill they came to the stable by the gate and Tronur and Rusvi went ahead to the stable guard. They told him that they needed five horses readied, by order of the king. Once the guard readied tthe horses, Tronur slit his throat, silently killing him. They all got on the horses and went to the gate, which was more heavily guarded.

OOC: Well, personally I have no problems with such, as long as you remain reasonable.

"Yes, my king. It shall be done." After the king finished with Julius, Julius bowed and turned around, heading outside the throne room. As he walked, he had an empty feeling. His head was low, looking at his own feet. If he hadn't just kept walking, he would have collapsed on the floor. He was shocked of what he had just been told to do.
I will never succeed, he thought.
This is all madness. Leading an invasion against the Alathr Empire equals suicide... It seems my father thinks the same of me as I do... I am not a worthy heir."You'll never be worthy if you think that way, Julius." His thoughts were suddenly interrupted as he had walked outside the throne room and the large door behind had been shut by the two guards. He raised his head and looked forward. It was his mother, just as he had thought. The most powerful sorceress in the world, capable of even reading minds. Even though she was almost as old as the king, she didn't show a sign of aging. Must be a part of her powers, too. There she stood with her elegant sorcerer's robe and long hair, with a sympathetic look on her beautiful face. But how did she get from the throne room this fast, straight in front of Julius without him ever noticing anything? Simple; she just warped outside. Her power was greater than Julius', so she can do it casually and silently.
"You are severely underestimating yourself, Julius. Your inner strength is greater than you think. I didn't raise you to become a sorcerer for nothing." Julius stayed silent as he listened to her mother talking to him. "Your father simply wants you to prove yourself. He believes in you. I believe in you, too. The whole North is supporting you. You yourself are the only one here who doesn't believe in you. That must change. Believe in yourself. Be confident. That is how you can save the North like your father did before you."
Julius opened his mouth, but at first, didn't get a word said. "I-I can't... I am not strong enough... too weak to believe in myself, too weak to change... I don't compare to my father..." He suddenly said in a silent voice.
"Yes you do. You are stronger than you think. You have power greater than you can imagine, but it has been sealed away by your attitude. You must start believing in yourself. Believe in yourself, be like you were when I taught you how to use your inner strength. You used to be so enthusiastic... You wanted to become strong so that you could help your father and the people of North." His mother told him. "I was a child back then. Now I've grown up and still haven't achieved anything. I have already failed myself and everyone else..." His mother sighed.
"You are so impossible to convince... Very well, if words don't work, then actions will. Come with me."
The queen grasped Julius' hand. In a fraction of second, they both had disappeared in air...

Arch was bolting over the hills and fields as fast as he could, trying his best to get out of the range of the rebellion. His axe was of course tainted of blood, but he didn't have any choice to wash it off. He needed to find a save haven, and fast. Heading in to a nearby forest, Arch seeked for shade and a temporary hideout.
He strolled around, looking for a perfect place, but he stopped to prevent making a sound. A human figure could faintly be seen in the distance. He readied his axe and slowly creeped up on the suspect, trying to make no sound. Unfortunately, this was impossible. The ground was covered in leaves and twigs, and after a couple steps a stalker was obvious to the strange figure. He turned around and quickly looked, seeing who was there. He ran straight at Arch with a lance in hand. but when he got closer, he started to run slower and slower, eventually stopping dead in his tracks. Arch instantly identified the man.
"Commander, it's good to see you're still alive," Arch told him.
"You too. I was worried, since there were hundreds of civilians after you," the commander responded.
"The last thing that'll kill me is my own people. Now, we must retreat to someplace safe."
"Where do you suggest? Word travels quickly in the empire, and surely knowledge of the incident today will reach everywhere. The empire's laws were broken by everyone in the city, so they'll go straight for the leaders, which unfortunately only consist of you and I. Assassins and armies will be after both of us."
"We have no choice but to head to the north. What has happened here shouldn't have much effect on those who live up there, even if word does get to them."
"Alright, but as to get there..."
"Do not worry. We are a good distance away from it, but a lot of the land is shrouded in forests and woods. If we are careful and resourceful, we will be able to get there without any problems," Arch explained.
"Let us go then. By foot, it should only take a couple days at most from where we are."
"Good. Keep your lance at the ready, in case of ambushes. The empire's watchmen are top-notch, and will surely spot us. We must travel together to avoid death. I'll round up some water to take. I have a few bottles to store it."
"Understood. I will gather some food and I'll meet you here in an hour."

As they approached the gate, a guard walked up to them, "What are you doing, we've received to reports of anyone leaving tonight."
Tronur spoke for the group, "Lord Andurro has told us to go "take care" of some rebels stationed in the barracks by the outer wall."
"Really? How many are there that he has only sent 5?" the guard asked curiously.
"There could be a good 30, that's why he sent us." Tronur said menecingly.
"O-oh sorry, I didn't know." the guard said.
"Just open the gate so we can do our job." Tronur commanded.
"Ri-right away. Lower the gate!" yelled the guard and he got out of their way. "Good luck."
They passed through the courtyard gate and made their way to the outer wall, which was on the edge of Thani's territory about one day away. There people could come and go as they pleased. The gate was opened without any questions asked and they passed into the bordering territory, Kowtiie.
"Now all we have to do is pass through here and into The Kingdom of the North." Andarra said. "It shouldn't take long if we make a straight line and don't stop in any towns. It should take the rest of the day to get to the North by horseback."
They quickened their pace and started riding for the North.

Tasuk got to the stables, and was please to see Ginny was still there. He jumped on, and motioned to Jeremy to come. "I'll take you to your village." They got to the village rather quickly. "Here. Now good-bye." And with that, Tasuk rode off in the opposite direction of his tribe, The North.
I can't go back now, I've been disgraced by being caught. Maybe I can find someone in the north.Tasuk rode without company for awhile, only a few birds had passed overhead. Every now and then, he thought he saw someone, but didn't. But then he saw a small troop of soldiers, looking like they were from the Empire. He decided to keep his distance, and tried not to be noticed.

"Someone's following us." Tronur announced. "Do you want me to take care of it?"
"He may just be a traveler, like us." said Lavasa.
"Except we'll be pursued." Lenore said.
"Well, how about we just turn around and confront him." suggested Ruvsi.
"I have a better idea." said Andarra. "Tronur, you and Ruvsi go left and off the trail, as soon as he reached that point, jump him. We'll keep going until then."
Tronur and Ruvsi left the trail and got off their horses, and Ruvsi climbed a nearby tree, and they waited. A couple minutes later, a horse trotted by and as soon as it was in range, Ruvsi jumped from the tree and tackled the rider from the horse. Just as he did so, Tronur ran from his hiding spot and drew his sword, letting the tip rest on the man's throat, "Who are you?" he asked him.
As that was happening, Andarra and the others returned to the spot.
