I just don't get it, please give me a hand! Why EBA?! I don't understand!
I've seen F-A-Qs and player reviews!
Seen videos and game-expo shows!
I've watched all these demos, time and again, but I don't find appeal in just these dancing men!
With painstaking research, it's all I can do, to watch someone's stylus connect "1" and "2"!
With all of my effort put into this game, no matter how often, it's always the same!
With a track list that can't even reach twenty songs, and none of my favorites, this game just feels wrong.
Why pay my money to bang my poor screen, to remixed old beats by Avril Lavigne?
Jackson Five's ABC, and the YMCA? I don't need that old stuff, I live in today.
I don't like Madonna or that batty old Cher. It's hard to find a song that I like anywhere!
Sure there's a Queen, and La La's good too, and Rock This Town's good on Guitar Hero 2.
But games based on music should come with a lot, and with just these nineteen, how much worth has it got?
Am I missing a beat? Just what makes this "elite"?
The gameplay just seems so incurably bland. Tapping some numbers to lend folks a hand?
Moving your stylus, point A to point B, your only reward is a hip twist or three.
I don't hear the songs that I really do like, it's just some screen-tapping in a musical light.
Why buy a game where the one main attraction, is tapping to oldies or some dim mainstream faction?
Don't get me wrong, I don't so mind their age. The best might be classic, or today's all-the-rage.
But this game offers little, and I can't see the use. No music, no gameplay, and sure no excuse.
Why purchase this title, what's there to enjoy? Destiny's Child? A renewed Sk8er Boi?
So few on the playlist, and fewer I'd play.
So many songs that could background the fray.
So very much more, the touch screen's done before.
So very little now, does it seem to allow.
The agents dance tireless to adequate songs,
While players keep tapping and try to keep pace,
They tap and they slide and they go righting wrongs,
And try not to make them fall flat on their face.
This game, in all honesty, lacks little worth, but losing that little has drained all of its mirth.

True and valid points. But I imagine the appeal to this game is similar to the one many people get for DDR and Guitar Hero. Plus, it's portable. Although I don't play this game anymore, I got a certain rush from playing the insanely hard levels, and getting them right as well.

Feck rhymes, I'm through with that.
Anyway. Musical themes aside...
I had the same problem with Guitar Hero 2. It's a game where all you do is play guitar. There ought to have been more songs to play. I only found 5 to 10 in the whole game I really enjoyed playing.
EBA makes an okay portable game in the gameplay itself, because you don't often try to train yourself to complex gameplay with a portable. But it's a game based on its own soundtrack. Hence, it either ought to have a better soundtrack, or it should hold its own in terms of interesting gameplay.
For some reason though... I'm the only one I know of who complains about this game. Everyone who talks about it, talks good about it. People are bloody RAVING about EBA. And I honestly don't have a single clue as to why.

Totally agree. It's as if the Japanese creators of this game watched an "I love the 90's" VH1 episode and thought it was a current biopic of America.

You aren't the only complainer I have heard. I have friends who, like me, liked it as first but totally hate it now. Mostly, its just about personal opinion. I hate 1st person shooters, and there's probably a vast amount of people who would argue for hours as to why my opinion of FPS's is moot and invalid.

I'm not an expert, but I couldn't even tell the songs were remixes. This game is just fun.

I have to agree with the sPYRO man. The game is just addicting and fun... until you beat it. Then it's just one of those games you only play for a couple of seconds when you're bored...

Ok, this game is not about YOU and what music YOU like. Even thought some of the songs are pretty dumb, I still like the game overall. I love completing the hardest levels! So addicting!!

Six months after posting this thread. Half a year after ranting long and hard (titter) about how awful this game must be.
I broke down and bought it.
MAN this is a great game. *buys Ouendan now as well* MAN.
Edit: MAAAAAANNNNNN!!!!!

Lol... EBA consumes another. It beat GHII for best Rhythm-Action game for a reason. Even though the songs are less than amazing, doing Jumpin Jack Flash and Survivor correctly is so worth it.

After I imported Daigasso from Japan, I kinda developed a thing for rhythm games, so I picked up EBA. Then I imported Ouendan 1 and 2 because damn it was fun poking numbers. Now I can't wait for some more rhythm games to come out on the DS like Ontamarama and Draglade, and I'm seriously considering Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii... But that's all off-topic. WHOOPSIE. Still, I guess I should've given EBA a chance earlier. After all, I'm one of those "rhythm in my soul" types, I guess it's no surprise I'd be captivated by good music and elite beats. XD
