Beat the 2 star, then the unlocked 3 star, and you will get HARD! mode.

In order to get Commander Kahn, you need to beat the Hard ROCK!! difficulty. After the credits roll, tap the Hard ROCK!! difficulty again and in the bottom right hand corner, instead of hitting "next", look for the icon right above it with an image of Commander Kahn's face that says "GO!!", tap that and when you start any song, Commander Kahn will appear on the bottom screen dancing. Not in the intros to the songs and only on the Hard ROCK!! difficulty.

You also need to complete all the bonus stages on every difficulty level. I just unlocked the last bonus song after beating the game on Hard Rock, so I didn't get Kahn immediately either.

I found breezin' terribly slow and boring, so I skipped it initially. Didn't find cruisin' too hard, but I had been playing other rhythm games a lot before that.

Yah. Breezin makes Crusin so much harder. It's pretty funny after playing Hard ROCK! for a while and then going back down, when you have the movements for the higher level songs practically impregnated into your hands, you start losing because the beats are too sloowwwwwww!
