The Thousand Year Door truly was brilliant.

Unlike Paper Mario's chapters, TTYD made it so that each one would actually contribute to the overall plot, albeit slightly, in some cases.

The tweaks to the battle system (mostly the idea of falling props and an interactive audience) made the battles all the more fun.

...I still only used the Goomba partner in both games.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is one of my favorite games ever. I can remember what it felt like the first time playing it. Soooooooo awesome.

My favorite part about the Mario RPGs is that they have a good story. Not in epic RPG fashion, but more comical writing and whimsical characters, which I really enjoyed. PM2 (since tTYD is too long to type ) had the best story. I love those games soooooo much.

Biggest flaw with PM2: the final boss.

Hardest thing I've ever done, harder than Mega Man and me trying to play FF Tactics (though that's funnier than anything else ). Though if I play through a a massive 30+ hour RPG three times without feeling it's a chore, you know it's good.

Sweet! Akira, do you have any recommendations on Japan-only products?

TALES OF HEARTS NOW GUYS.

Oh, and if you have a PSP get Tales of VS september 9th, then it'll of been over 30 days for it, but don't buy if you have CFW, it needs 5.55, and that kills CFW.

But otherwise, try looking for some good Japan-only games, mostly RPG's.

Sigma Harmonics $11.92

I really haven't browsed through it yet.

Wiis are region locked, so no Rainbow for me

As for your recommendations, stuff like Ouendan 2 which you said was really, really good. Are those other 2 DS titles really, really good, or just good? And maybe a small description too.

Soma Bringer's a pretty good game, but I personally haven't spent a lot of time with it. I've also heard both good and bad things about Sigma Harmonics, but hey it's cheap.

Dragon Quest IX is awesome.

Some of the stuff I have tabbed up are:
[PS2] A.C.E. 3 $63.92
[PS2] Espgaluda $52.92
[PS2] NiGHTS into Dreams $35.92
[PS2] SD Gundam G Generation Spirits $55.12

Other notables, but you may or may not want to get them:
[NDS] Phantasy Star Zero $11.92 - getting US release
[NDS] Ragnarok Online DS $15.92 - getting US release
[NDS] RIZ-ZOAWD $11.92 - getting US release as "The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road.

Stuff I bought before (besides CR, SB, SH, DQIX) that you may be interested in now:
[NDS] Emblem of Gundam $11.92
[NDS] Super Robot Taisen K $23.92
[GCN] White GameCube Controller $19.92

I recently just ordered:
[NDS] Game Center CX 2 $23.92
[GBA] bit Generations: Boundish $7.92

Also, Monster Hunter 3 ($55.12), Black Wiimote (35.92), Nunchuk (19.92), CCPro ($23.92) and the MH3 CCPro Bundles ($76.00) are also on sale.

I'm sorry, Ouendan. Is it really that big of a deal, you understood and the game is awesome (only thing I ever got off play-asia).

DQIX I can wait for NA release, MH3 bundles are overpriced and I'll wait for NA so I can understand. However the CCPro caught my eye. Do they have any plans on bringing those to NA and are they compatable wiht US Wiis?

EDIT: Pokemon fans, prepare to have your mind blown!

Heh, funny story about my version of the Final Boss battle: Due to a funny coincidence, exactly five turns after the long 'pray' cut scene, I'd get triple Shine Sprites as long as I hit the A button at the right moment... I always hit the A button at the right moment, every time (I fought her about ten times).

Lucky

Did you ever use that SuperGuard? I find it too difficult, but theoretically, if one masters it, they can beat the entire game without taking damage......

Either way, all this talk makes me want to go back and play these games. I think I'll watch the speed runs to tide me over.

I could Super Guard every attack in the game (except specific boss attacks which are immune to it), you just have to get the rhythm, the timing is actually the same as the original's regular guard (which, at first, was difficult to time, then towards the end of the chapter, it became natural).

The Zap Tap badge made me immune to all fuzzies, as well.

Or he's just, you know, playing it with his hands unlike he says he is.

Unless you were being sarcastic...
