They want Unite and Tri to be their big push at making the game a hit world wide.

Monster Hunter suuuuucks
Says anyone who can't beat the most basic of creatures. Most poor reviews of the series have been two plus page BAWWWS about how the game was too hard at the start.

And honestly, when has Capcom made anything easy? I, for one, appreciate the challenge.

The marketing for MH3 is only going to get stronger in July and it's going to be unbearable because we have to wait so long. =#

I suppose I should fire up MHF2, because tbh, I've never played a MH game yet.

It supposed to hit NA in March, unsure about elsewhere. Capcom seems to really be pushing this game, though that wasn't particularly unexpected.
Well, that's one long wait, but I've dealt with worse.

Akira_Ex, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite came out a few days ago. If you haven't already purchased MHF2, get Unite instead.

I've already had MHF2 for a while now, and I don't really want to pick up 2ndG right about now.

But it has more content in it, it's an expansion rather than a sequel.

Anyway, I'm surprised that Monster Hunter is never mentioned in any of these "Hey the Wii is for hardcore gamers too" articles.

I was under the impression that a very challenging game centered around dismembering large creatures that spray blood with each strike was 'hardcore.'

Apparently I'm mistaken.

A bunch of games end up getting left out of those discussions /shrug

Just need to spread the info around more.

EDIT: Oh, and with all of the other games that I have, I can't really justify buying 2ndG already when I haven't even touched 2nd.

I figure it stems from the fact that the Western audience hasn't really picked up on the series that heavily yet.

A lot of times, "hardcore" really means "realistic FPS" or "western RPG and Final Fantasy" in those articles.

Well... Unite is a solid title, and only $30usd since it was priced as an expansion.

The series already has two copy-cat games being made, one called Hunter Blade, by some chinese company. It looks like a halfassed reskin of the game. And God Eater by Namco, which looks like some weird cross between Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star.

I might have to get this since I gave MHF2 a fourth chance, and ended up buying MHFU because of it.

OMG!!!!

Thats trailer is 100% Pure awesomeness.

Slash axe....i mean.......omg

that lance counter attack was just soo wicked

The sabre tooth monster was just soo cool, fighting him in the cave and stuff.

That drilling monster....i mean how are we suppose to even fight that??!?!

The last monster at the end is definetly the new lao-shan..but doesnt it remind you of that boss in wind waker?

anyways nice find Akira, this trailer made my day.

Also don't forget about the Monster Hunter 3 tri~ forum either. Although, simultaneous discussion here and there would be great.

Man, I wish this game was coming out in August here as well. I'm really looking forward to it.

I would go post in the MH3 forum, but I don't know anything about the series, and have nothing to talk about with the people there.
