Installation of e-pad driver in Windows XP

Win2K drivers can be used on WinXP by following the instructions below:

Upon installing the e-pad USB driver in Windows XP through normal standard setup, an error may occur. The error message could be as follows: "Error occurred when installing driver through setup.exe."

To successfully install the USB driver in Windows XP, you need to apply the following.

Firstly, ensure that you have the Windows 2000 driver on the driver CD. If not, please download it from here.

Once you have the necessary driver files, follow the procedures given below:

1. Plug the e-pad into the USB slot of the computer.

2. Go to Device Manager. You can get there by this route – Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > See Basic Information about the computer > System Properties > Hardware > Device Manager.

3. In Device Manager, go to Mice and Other Pointing Devices. There will be a USB Human Interface Device with a yellow "!" mark under that category. Right click on that item and select Update Driver.

4. You will be presented with two choices. Select the one that says Install from list or specific location, then click Next. When asked for the location of the driver, select Don't search. I will choose a driver to install.

5. A Hardware Update Wizard screen will appear. If the system asks about the Hardware type, click Next. You will come to the next part. Here, click Have Disk.

6. An Install From Disk screen will appear. Click on Browse and use the following path to look for that specific file: CD-ROM drive > English > Driver > USB > Win2k > mgusbtab.inf. Click Open. Then, click OK.

7. Select the MG Logic USB Tablet and click Next. A Hardware Installation screen will appear, click on Continue Anyway. System then starts copying files.

8. Click Finish. The Device Manager will show a MG Logic USB Tablet under the Mice and Other Pointing Devices without any markings. The pen should also be able to move the cursor.

I did what you mentioned and installation of the driver was successful, but still the mouse/cursor won't move.

1) win2K does *not* have a 'human interface' category
2) MG website is vacant, so I recommend *not* using any MG
product

3) I found an old MG tablet but mlgtab2k.inf 'does not describe' anything, time to bin the tablet. When I need one I will buy from a manufacturer who still has a web site...

4) when I run MG's setup.exe it says
'MS Word 97 or better is required'
...now since I have Word2003 I guess thats a value judgement...

Whoever would like to get this file "MGUSBTAB.INF" for JU-0605 e-pad MGLogic, send me the e-mail, ok?

Because I don't know that How many persons still face this problem.

But I found that my problem will be off and on, especially with changing USB slot so...
- if you have driver but still not work try this *** change USB slot and try again. ***
- and if it works off and on like mine, *** try plug off and re-insert again in the same slot. ***

HOPE this can help.
