Hello,

I was wondering if you have a iPod can anybody hack into it like computer viruses and you can't use your computer? Because if there is i was going to buy the ipod protection plan...

Well it would be possible for someone to put an infected file on your iPod and if you open it it could put a virus on your computer. I'm not sure if there is any specific virus that targets the iPod though.

There was the RavMon.exe virus on some video ipods bought after September 12 2006, though.

Yea, it didnt affect the iPod itself, but when you synced to a Windows machine, it uploaded a semi threatening virus. it was annoying, but was easy enough to kill. (my bro had it lol)

I'm sure there are. It's basically just a hard drive.

Yea, but viruses can be stored in hard drives, but nothing happens unless the Operating system recognizes the file. exe viruses have no effect on the actual iPod. However, once transferred to a windows pc...

Just buy the protection plan anyway, you'll be happy you did.

Yes you will, viruses are the least of your worries. the headphones break often enough that the protection plan pays for itself 10fold. plus when you drop ur ipod or otherwise break it, you will be very happy they will replace it free of charge.
