My sister has a 2006 white model iPod that won't respond to anything. It was working fine yesterday, but now, it won't turn on even when we plug it into the computer. We even tried resetting it. She didn't do anything to it and she just got in in late July. Any idea what this is?

If the lock was on, it would still turn on even when connected to the computer...

You dont get any reponce at all from it? When you connect it to your computer, does your computer show that anything is connected?

Well he said he "even reset the settings" meaning that he must have gotten some response.

He means he tried resetting the actual iPod. (Holding down the menu and the select buttons for 6 seconds)

I can't really help with this, but have you tried contacting Apple? They might either be able to explain how to fix it, or if the warranty is still in effect, they might say to send it in for them to replace it. Thats what they said when my shuffle stopped responding to my computer. Also, has it been dropped? Has it gotten wet? Any number of thingd can cause an iPod to work up like that. Im sorry i cant help much, but i just thought i'd tell you this. Good luck.

It's fixed. My sister held down the middle and menu button for 3 minutes and then it finally turned on. It was weird. Thanks guys.
