im thinking about geting a shuffle. i froogled it and found this: Link

50$ is 20 less then it is at stores and it doesnt say its used. i think its a great deal, but a little to good to be true. am i going to be ripped of in some way?

It's a refurbished model meaning that at some point it was returned to the manufacturer and reconditioned. Odds are that if it works when you get it it should be fine. You might want to see what the warranty on it is just in case.

Odds are that a refurbished product has been used. Occasionally they are products that have been returned without being used.

Occassionally someone will return an item and say it's defective even though it hasn't been used. I know a few people who've done that before.

a refurbished item is a cross between used and new. someone else before you owned that product, and may have used for a while (probably less then a month). they then return it and the manufactuer then makes sure the product works and puts it in a box and sells it as refurbished. its not brand new, but its better then used.
