I received a 15G original Ipod from my friend. I would like to change the owner's name to mine but have not been able to find out how.
Could anybody give me some pointers please.

Thanks

SP

Hmmm, i'm not familiar with the original iPods. But yours is not generation one, or two as those did not feature a 15gb harddrive. So it has to be a generation three.

I'm pretty sure that you mean editing the name of your iPod, as how it appears sometimes when using the iPod itself and how it appears when you sync it in iTunes. Right now the only way that I know of doing that is by formatting the hard drive with iPod update, and then the first time you pop it into iTunes you are prompted to enter a new name for it.

You could always get some fancy software that i'm sure will do the same trick without having to format it, but I am not sure which one has that feature. Good luck and post back if you need help.

you can rename it in itunes by giving 2 slow clicks over the name of the ipod.

See I thought it would also been something so easy like that that I was missing. I right clicked on it expecting a "rename" utility and there is none. Going deeper with right clicking and doing full properties and settings yields nothing either! Good fine Kilgore.

Yeah, thats pretty easy to figure out. It's just like renaming a playlist.
