I bought an iPod Nano, 5th generation a few weeks back, and just today, I already started having problems with it.

I turn it on, and leave it. It plays music for a few seconds, and then it starts doing weird things, like speeding through the songs, randomly pausing, and automatically switching songs as if it were on shuffle (even when it's not on shuffle). It does all of this while I'm not pressing any buttons, or even touching it.

What's my problem? How do I fix it?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is "Shake to Shuffle" on? That would explain the shuffling, at least.

Just checked, and no, it's not.

Take it to an Apple Shop, they'll run diagnostics and if you did buy it a few weeks back brand new, they'll gladly replace it for free.

Take the receipt with you for proof.
