Subject:   CD = Lower sound?
I've had some albums I got online and they sounded fine. So I decided to reward the bands by buying the albums. So I buy them and put them on my itunes and sync them. Only thing is now the song volumes are extremely low and I don't know why. Help please?

Well having more than 20 CD I bought imported to my ipod,I know now that the sound is lower. I don't know why it is lower it just is. So what I recomend is just click edit->select all->right click any of the songs->click get info->go to options on the new small window->slide the volume adjust to +100% and click OK and you should be just fine.

First of all, if you bought a bootleg album, of course the quality and by proxy, sound will be lower.

If this is an official release, iTunes's CD importing capabilities are pretty poor, but adjustable. Increase the frequency to 48 Hz.

Or, use EAC (Exact Audio Copy) that is freeware, and use Lame 3.98 as its compressor. Tutorials are available all over the net, but it'll get the best possible quality out of your CD if using the right setting, and I rarely, if ever, have to adjust volume.
