Just about to use Tidus' method from the video. A bit nervous.

Shit. It's been stuck on the apple logo for ages now, after the pineapple screen thing. Any ideas?

Try again. Go into DFU mode, restore from there, and try again.

I am currently on the Verizon network and I desperately want an iPhone. I have looked up how to jailbreak an iPhone to work for the Verizon network and have found one video tutorial that does a great job of demonstrating it for the original iPhone, but for the iPhone 3g, all I have found is sites wanting to send the directions to my phone (I do not trust this at all). So I was wondering if it is possible to jailbreak an iPhone to work with the Verizon network.

It is. My iPhone 3G is jailbroken and unblocked to work with any network.

Did you use one of the sites that sends the instructions to your phone?

You should know if you successfully Jailbroke it, you should have either Cydia or Icy on your springboard.

You can look to here for what to install. However, before you do install anything else, make sure you get BSD Subsystem, SBSettings, CyDelete, Winterboard and OpenSSH.

JAILBREAKERS/UNLOCKERS DO NOT UPGRADE TO FIRMWARE 3.1, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR JAILBREAK/UNLOCK.

*Edit*

Also, 3GS owners, do NOT upgrade to 3.1, you WILL lose your ability to downgrade should anything happen to your iPhone. Apple has stopped signing previous .ipsw files for this model, the only solution is 3.1 which currently has no jailbreak. More information available at modmyi.com or BigBoss' Blog

You can update to 3.1. Just make a custom ipsw in a mac with Pwnagetool, and make sure you select the option to NOT upgrade the baseband when you are doing so.

I'm trying to jailbreak my iPod touch 2g and I'm having a few problems

firstly, I have firmware 3.1.1, and I know its not compatible so I tried to downgrade to 3.0, but when I do the shift-click restore and choose the 3.0 firmware it fails with error (20).

So then I tried running Redsnow using the 3.0 firmware I downloaded. It goes all the way through the install, comes up that its downloading jailbreak data but then it seems to break to the point where I need to plug it into iTunes and restore it to use it again

Is there any way I can jailbreak my iPod or do I need to wait until a new version comes out for 3.1.1?
