You can keep accessing the app store to update apps. The good old fashion way.

Is there a Jailbreak thingo for 5.0 for Ipod Touch? And if I did update would I have to re-install all of my Cydia stuff? Is there an easier way to do it?

EDIT: Also, I just put a theme on my Ipod it's called Orbz, When I open up WinterBoard it has the selection of Orbz, Orbz Sliders and Orbz Battery(Also has Orbz SMS Bubbles, but I don't think it will do anything on an Ipod) . I can put on Orbz which changes the Springboard thing but when I tick the Battery one and Sliders it doesn't do anything...?

One last question, Can you select your own Wallpaper with a theme on?

Theres only a jailbreak tethered for some versions of the iTouch. Meaning that if your iTouch has to restart you need to hook it up to a computer to be able to do it. No matter what you have to either do a clean restore with a jailbroken firmware(which can't be done for iOS 5 right now) or re-run redsn0w after upgrading.

If you have a theme on, it overwrites the wallpaper.

[METHOD] How to Jailbreak Your iPhone Using TaiG

STEP BY STEP GUIDE HERE:
Step One Create an iClarified folder on your desktop and download the latest version of TaiG into the folder. If your download is a zip file then extract the archive into the same folder.
Step Two Tap Settings from your Springboard then select Touch ID & Passcode. Turn Passcode Off if it is enabled.

Step Three Press the Settings button at the top left to return to the Settings menu. Choose iCloud from the Settings menu then select Find My iPhone from the iCloud menu. Ensure the Find My iPhone switch is the Off position

Step Four Connect your iPhone to the computer via a USB cable* launch iTunes* and perform a manual backup. It is very important that you remember to backup your device before continuing as you could lose your data if the jailbreak process does not complete successfully.
Step Five Double click the TaiGJBreak executable from the iClarified folder on your desktop to launch the application.

I've known a few people irl that have tried jailbreaking their ipod/iphone and they've broken them and 2/3 of the people that I know had to buy a new one because they tried literally everything to try and fix it.

That's why I'm unsure whether or not I should even attempt to jailbreak xd.

How often does this happen?

look It's nearly imposible to brick an iPhone. You can come close to it but its nothing that a DFU restore can't fix. Just because it seems bricked doesn't mean that it is.

And to follow up on LOD-sqa's post, it's literally impossible to brick a iPod Touch.

I've jailbroken the same iPod twice before and I've never had any problems with it, only that some Cydia apps just won't work for me.

I want to jailbreak my iPad 2 this weekend but I need tips. Is it legal in the UK? Is it dangerous? How do you do it? Should I do it?
