Ah, oh crap.

So, I finished jailbreaking via blackra1n, and I downloaded a certain app off of Cydia and now it's stuck in recovery mode. How do I get out of this?

pretty sure you have to go ahead and use Recover and choose you latest backup in itunes.

@Darkness1000: A installing a app off of Cydia should't make your iDevice crash like that, out of curiosity what app did you download?
And what Romper said was correct, if you are indeed in recovery mode, you have to restore from iTunes.

@b_eef: the "Waiting to Reboot" part is mandatory, but it shouldn't take an eternity for the iDevice in question to reboot.

I think Apple is lagging behind now that they have created the app store and version 3.0

They haven't made an update in forever, I want something incredibly new to my phone so I can be cool again because you know the Dev-team can crack that firmware in just about a week.

And about the rebooting... Just put the phone in DFU mode (what you do to jailbreak) 10 seconds power, 30 seconds both power and home button, 10 seconds home button (or until you hear the beeps for each one) and they just plugger in and restore it.

Funny that you should bring that up, because now there are rumors that there OS 4.0B has been silently pushed to devs.
Seems about right, as the new iPhone should be coming and the fabled iTablet would coincide with the announcement.

P.S. I approve of your signature/hockey team.

So... why do I have to re-jailbreak my iTouch everytime it dies?

What do you mean with "every time it dies"? Everytime you run out of battery?

yep. when the battery runs out i plug it in my laptop, iTunes tells me it is in recovery mode, and i have to re-jailbreak it. I am using blackra1n.

I'm pretty sure blackra1n is a tethered jailbreak which means that you have to re-jailbreak everytime that your iPod dies/restarts.

That's what I heard when blackra1n was released, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong though, because I jailbroke with blackra1n too and it doesn't make me re-jailbreak.

Ok, I've jailbroken my iTouch and I've downloaded a theme. How do I activate the theme because nothing has changed.

Download Winterboar too, and activate your theme with it.

Yeah I managed to work it out after ten minutes or so. I now have a brand new Bleach theme running on my iPod. It's just a shame that you can't turn it off without having to 'Make it Ra1n' again.

QQ did they release the jailbreak that better handles 3.1.2 on new iPhones? I just want to install and be done.
