If you go through a door while fighting a brother, there's a chance a copy will appear. The problem is that the game doesn't realize the brother has been fought until it dies. Some people kill all the brothers that appear, even trying to get more, in the thought that they will have a better chance at an item. I don't think it helps, but I could be wrong.

Well I don't think anyone has luck right now because I got a Champion's Scroll off of the skeletons in the tunnels on run #4 this trip and then looted a Dh Helm plus I called a good item to top it off.

Sorry for the double post, but gotta say this:
Got a karil skirt about 2 weeks ago. I thought I was super lucky. Got a dharok helm week after that. Thought I was luckier than no other. Today went to barrows, and got t legs after like 50 chest dry streak. Brought a smile to my face
On the last chest of my 15 chest trip I got an ahrim skirt and ROFLD IRL. I decided to go to another trip and do one chest and then go to bed if nothing comes. Got another t legs, right after the ah skirt chest 
So since I actually got an item, I decided to do another chest and go to bed if I dont get an item. Got a guthan spear and was like wtf am I even awake? Wtf is this? True story, you might not believe it but I have pics of all the drops, can upload later on if you want proof
