Subject: Age of Empires 3 Home Cities help
-------------------------------------------
Hi,
I've been having a lot of trouble with "Home Cities" in regards to playing skirmish games (offline - I'm too useless to play online

)
What happens is, I'll start a game as you would but, if I need to come off the computer BEFORE I finish the game, I have a problem. I'll do the usual and save the game. Then, to quit, I have to resign from the game to then exit it. The problem is that it must assume that I've finished that game and it adds my Home City XP onto the XP you see on the screen (where you can select your home city, or choose to play etc...).
If I then reload that saved game and carry on and win it...it'll say my I've gone up two levels or whatever but when I click "quit" it doesn't update it on the screen. Basically, it won't add anything that I've done since I reloaded the game. I'm assuming this is because, when I resigned the game after I saved it, that's what it takes for the level and it won't do anymore... Essentially, I have to play a game in an entire sitting, no quitting in the middle, to get the full XP that I've earned for the level.
I played a game recently, got about 2000 XP and saved and game off. Then, the next day, continued and maxed out my XP (30,000 limit or something) but it didn't record any of it except for the initial 2000 it added after me quitting the first time.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? It's really frustrating because I can't play it in bits, I've got to sit here for the entire time otherwise the rest of the XP is wasted.
Thanks for any assistance in this!

I had the same problem. Here's a way around it:
When you load your saved game and finish (hopefully you've won), instead clicking on Quit, click on View Postgame, which will show you a lot of statistics. It works for me.
