lold at Larry Merchant. Him and Floyd get into it again during the post-fight interview.
Insane ending to the Ortiz/Mayweather bout though. I blame the shitty ass refereeing for how it transpired.

No really happy how this ended.
quote Jaffers
I agree with Mayweather with what he said, however harsh it might be. Dude came out and pretty much tried to put all the blame on Floyd for what happened, when; A) It'd be the refs fault, not Floyds B) As said by everyone, defend yourself at all times or have this happen. Tbh the interview did actually seem unfair on Floyd, no mention of the fact he got headbutted, no mention of how he schooled Ortiz to *bleep*, just going on about his win being unfair.
That being said, there definitely is a case for it. Not trying to in anyway say that there isn't, and maybe if Ortiz hadn't headbutted Mayweather I'd be bothered a little more by it. I just don't see how the person you can blame for the decision is Mayweather.
I know is your opinion, and I respect that, but I think that was really low on Mayweather. And now he gain even more hate. But he can't have the whole fault, the refs should have paid more attention, and Ortiz was stupid as well for letting himself open like that.

like floyd shown in the post-fight interview, they touched gloves and then the fight was back on. even after he threw the first punch, ortiz did NOTHING to protect himself. it might have been a bit snide but it wasn't cheating. sure he'll get hate for it, i'm sure he expects it, but can you imagine how he felt after the guy jumped at him with a headbutt?

I think Mayweather new Ortiz had a chance to beat him, and he threw those punches out of desperation. I feel bad for whoever actually paid for this PPV. he should stop being a coward an fight Pacman.

Eurgh, annoying way to end what could have been an entertaining fight. What's frustrating is that there was no need for it, Mayweather was already beating Ortiz and would have continued to dominate yet he decided to end the fight by tricking a naive Ortiz.
It's true that Ortiz should have been protecting himself, but it's also understandable why his guard was down. Usually after an embrace the fighters will touch gloves to indicate that it's back on again, you don't expect to be punched before it ends. But, by the letter of the law there's nothing wrong with what Mayweather did and Ortiz should have been more cautious, but it's a cheap way to win and highly unnecessary when you consider the talent he has. This could have been a good win for Floyd but now when people look back they'll just remember a bizarre and unsatisfying end to the fight.

He should of waited till Ortiz had finished apologising,it was a pretty sh*t end to what had been a good fight.

Ortiz was hugging him at the time then Mayweather stepped back and gave him the one-two.
Did you see how quick it was ? The first punch he threw rocked him, then he landed the second square on the chin.

I haven't seen the fight yet but from reading about it, it sounds like something similar to what happened vs. Gatti?

I guess it's how long is he going to apologise for? After the point was taken away he went up for Floyd, apologised and they both seemed to be over it. The ref then brought them back together, so he tries to say sorry again. That's just poor judgment from Ortiz, and likely a pissed off Mayweather seeing a chance to chin the dude, however cheap it may've been.

Floyd smacked the life out of Ortiz's face while he had his guard down.
Lol at the ref's reaction and then proceeded to count. xD

I can see this catching up as a meme soon.

Yeah, I guess so. I suppose if it'd counted and I had as much on the line as Mayweather did I would of done the same if I was in the ring.
Didn't think of it like that

That's normal for boxers/fighters who cut weight to make their division, right before the weigh-ins, they're very dehydrated and have changed their diet for weeks. After that they'll start eating big meals and rehydrate (often using IV bags, so they have more room for food).
