this worked for me;

1. View the Action Replay DSi icon within Device Manager under the section ‘Other Devices’

2. Double click the Action Replay DSi icon

3. Select ‘Driver’

4. Select ‘Update Driver’

5. Select ‘Browse my computer for the driver software’

6. Select ‘Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer’

7. Highlight ‘Show all Devices’

8. Select ‘Next’

9. Select ‘Have Disk’

10. With the DSi Action Replay Code Manager PC software disc inserted select ‘Browse’

11. From the left of the shown screen select ‘Computer’

12. Double click your CD drive

13. Highlight the file named ‘dsiarhwprog’ if you are using a 32bit release of Windows or highlight the file named ‘dsiarhwprog_x64’ if you are using a 64bit release of Windows

14. Select ‘Open’

15. Select ‘OK’

16. Select ‘Next’

17. If you are shown a message which asks you to confirm the installation of the driver/software, select the button to confirm the installation

I don't have the action replay icon in device manager. Under all three systems, it just shows up as "unknown device" and windows (XP, vista, and 7) will not let me update the driver.

it will say "Dsi AR HW Prog" in device manager

I do not have any entries anywhere within the device manager that says "Dsi AR HW Prog". All I get is "unknown device" under USB Conrollers. When I double click that device (which is the AR via usb) the window states " Windows has stopped the device because it has reported problems" and it will not let me update the drivers (says that it has the latest drivers).

This happens on XP, Vista, and Win 7 using two recently purchased AR cards. One of the teo usb cables that was packaged with the AR doesn't work.

I tried emailing the company, but I just got a canned response which outlines the procedures mentioned above.

I refuse to throw away another $20 on another AR when datel will not support the two I purchased last month. Unfortunately, I do not have the packaging so I can not return them.

It seems everything I google makes it sound like a simple fix by updating the driver for the Dsi AR HW Prog device. Problem is, mine is never recognized with that name -- just as an unknown device
