HAHAHA......your actually right on the money......this series did lose its hero......I think nightmare is the closest thing to a main character now....
Dude, he's the bad guy that everyone is after.

Actually, it's more like Kilik and Xianghua.

Xianghua was the one who defeated Nightmare and Inferno in SC.

Yeah, Mitsurugi was always advertised that way, but he actually has a small role in the overall storyline.

He has never encountered the the evil swords.

He shouldve been the one to defeat nightmare in SC.....not Xiangha....or whatever her name is........he is awesome.

I still don't understand why they changed Mitsurugi's face, man.

He looked the same in Soul Edge and Soul Calibur, but he looks like a different person in Soul Calibur 2.

He used to look like the hero of the series.

With his new face, he now looks like just some random character.

Man, I miss Sophi's old 2P costume. These ones look so plain.

Heheh Mitsurugi aged. He was sort of like the hero in the first one. Back then Sophi and Taki did away with the first sword right? Then Xianghua took on Nightmare... now, I can't tell who's the "hero" here. Cervantes? Heheh

I'm hoping for a Greatest Hits version fully revamped. I'm sure with enough complaints, Namco may just fix Sophi.

She's even more ugly in her 3rd costume.

Man, I wish they would remake Soul Blade with next gen graphics.

Remember, Sophitia had secret costumes where she didn't have a skirt on, and the one where she wore just her undies.

Heheh Mitsurugi aged.
Doesn't look like it.

They changed his face. He has bigger eyes now, and the shape of his face is different
.

In Soul Calibur too.

Everytime they advertised Soul Calibur in magazines, they always used him.

Heheh Yeah, I remember that. Back when sex sold but it wasn't acknowledged. Oh how far we've come. Now they can use characters in nothing more than body paint (Taki) and we wont hear a peep from the ESRB. *sigh*

I've not noticed his eyes, nor that small head you keep pointing out but his head has become somewhat wider. Mina too, her entire figure it seems... but not in a bad way... hmm...

He just looks a lot older.
And that hair just does not go well.

You mean this? While we're on the topic of Nightmare, check out little Siegfried.
Anyway, here's another look at how they changed Mitsurugi's face.

I think its just the beard and mustache that make him look different!

Look carefully, dude.

His eyes, his nose and the shape of his face are all different.

The older version looks like some pretty boy hero, while now's version looks like some thug who hangs out in the fish market.

Check out how dull the arcade version of Soul Calibur looked.

Man, you gotta love the Dreamcast.
