Subject: Error when starting up game on XP !!!

please help... ive been searching all night. i cannot find what is wrong, it just comes up as ''error... send report to microsoft'' (i have windows XP and im pretty sure thats the problem)
i tried to crack it numerously to see if there is any difference... and no. and someone said something about installing NVIDIA or something- i checked the website and i didnt understrand it one bit... im no computer genius unfortunately
its unfair... i really want to play the game, because it looks so good

I too have the same issue. I am going to reinstall it to see if anything just magically changes...some one said that worked. OR to try a registry cleaner, then reinstall.
I am frustrated too...there doesn't seem to be much about this problem.

I got it to work. It seems to be an error with winXP and the CD, so I loaded a No CD patch to run the game without a CD and it works great. No problems.
Go to www.freeinfosociety.com/site.php?postnum=909 and download the english v1.0 patch. Then load it in your Alice directory under a folder called No CD. Copy all your games files into that folder and it should run.

I tried doing what you said. I download the patch, I created a new folder in the game files, and I copied everything into that folder and I clicked on it to play. I played it, and it's still choppy and slow! Do I have to delete it then reinstall it and then do all that?? I'm so confused and I'm really desperate to play the game.
