Bit of a longshot, but considering I'm currently debating this point, out of interest I'd like to see where the majority of Loungin' sides on this issue.

Should a woman (or couple) have the option of abortion?

I think they should.

Following what happened in Ireland yes. An abortion after 24 weeks should be allowed in the event of a risk to the mother. In this case, no abortion was carried out and both parent and child died, despite the mother miscarrying, the foetus would've died anyway, yet doctors decided to continue with the pregnancy. In the end the only thing that was left was a grieving widowed husband and a body left to take to a funeral.

Abortion before a time limit should also be allowed.

Yes, I think the option should be granted to every couple/woman.

I don't even see how this is a question. Of course.

It's not like it's been a massive debate for a long time or anything.

That's like me saying: Does God exist? I don't even see how this is a question. Of course he doesn't.

Haha yes, but let's not spark that discussion in a thread that's supposed to be on abortion. I was just using an example to show how seemingly ignorant his post was.

Okay Exonerate.

Anyway, yes, I think it should be allowed. Like harbin91 said, it should be, if it's at that high of risk, or even if the couple thinks they simply aren't financially or emotionally ready.

Yeah, because religion has been influencing people's opinions on matters that don't concern them in any way. I'm not saying I don't get how or why this is a question, just why that kind of thinking has any prevalence today. Especially in a society so keen on flaunting how open minded and free it is.

Of course the woman/couple should ALWAYS have the option of abortion, regardless of any circumstances.
As for the majorly retarded religious morons who condemn it, *bleep* off.

I think it should be avoided, but not disallowed.

Prevention such as cheap and easy access to birth control and proper sex education from an early age should be number one. But abortion should never be denied in any case. It you provide these things then abortion rates always drop.

You forget that religious nutters are against both.
