So i've just got to the route before Goldenrod, and besides a couple of level 6 pokemon all i have is a lv.25 Quilava, is that enough or do i need to start adding more pokés to my team?

it would be best if you have more than just one poke, because if u have a quilava and you fight against a strong water type you would probably end up losing.

yea one of those would be good for now because later on in the game you get to battle a shiny (red)Gyarados level 30 at lake of rage.
