Subject: Omit "/members" when typing the URL to a profile
-------------------------------------------
We all know that to link to a profile, you have to type this:
http://www.neoseeker.com/members/Castlewars
The reason why I bolded the "/members" part is because I feel that this is only a complication that is something unnecessary. On YouTube, when you type the URL to a channel, you can type this:
http://www.youtube.com/user/darkbowser10001
However, it's much simpler to just type this, and it can be done:
http://www.youtube.com/darkbowser10001
This method simply omits an unnecessary part of the URL (/user) so I think that there should be a way to type up the URL without including the "/members" part, like this:
http://www.neoseeker.com/Castlewars
Do you think that this should be implemented?

The way it is implemented follows a logical hierarchical organization of the site's structure. I don't see anything wrong with the way it's currently done.

While we're at it, let's also remove /forums so that the URL to this forum becomes www.neoseeker.com/15/ and nobody has any clue what the 15 stands for.
Yeah, that doesn't work quite so well. A website is made up of many directories, which is where the /members/ part of the URL comes into play. Profiles are set in that directory to keep them separate from game, movie, and book profiles. For example, let's say we removed the /members portion of the URL and also removed /Games. The server would have
no idea whether you're trying to reach
Mega Man's user profile or the
Mega Man profile.
It's a good idea in theory, but due to what I've mentioned above as well as future plans for the site, this suggestion isn't possible.

These work well for Twitter et al because a user's feed page one of the main pieces of functionality. Neoseeker profiles aren't, really, so it seems unnecessary to reflect high-importance through a "top-level URL."
