Okay guys,let's start the trivia.

What is the aircraft and the maker on the Coaler?
Which Russian Transport can carry a bigger payload,
the AN-124 or the AN-225?

Rivet joint is a converted B747, its the airborne command center......maybe, can't remember. Aurora.... you got me there, though Antonov design bureau make/made the coaler, and the an-225 carries the bigger payload, 225tons or so! It's name in Russian is Myria, D'you know what that means.

Okay, the Aurora is the Canadian version of the of
the Lockheed P-3C Orion,it's known as the CP-140
in Canadian service.

Rivet Joint is not the 747,you're thinking of the
E-4 command post,Rivet Joint is the RC-135V which
is the same airframe used for the KC-135,as well
as for the E-8 J-Stars and the E-6 Mercury.

But you did get the other two right

What large transport aircraft can be seen taking
off from Scion Air base in mission #10?

Don't really remember, C-17 perhaps, it's the only thing I remember blowing up. I know there's a couple of C-130's there too.
I was actually torn between 707 and 747 for that rivet joint!
Do you know What Myria means (the name of the An-225)?
Jim

ps I love this forum, it's like coming home!

Nope, the only medium transport that is seen taking
off is a single C-130,the other C-130 is seen at
the air base east of the rocket launch facility
in mission #8 "Shattered skies." the other mission
where you can see any more C-130's is in trial mission
#1.

I do know that the Miriya,is also known as the Cossack.

What aircraft does the AN-72 Coaler resemble or was
influanced by?

Miriya, means 'dream'. I dunno what the An-72 is influenced by. looks kinda like a swollen Harrier though.

Good call JC Mobius, that's it! The Boeing YC-14,I
think the Russians got there influance from both
the YC-14 and the McDonnell Douglas YC-15.But also
the aircraft became the influance for what other
transport aircraft that is in sevice right now?
