Subject: Game pak resetting my game

I havnt played stadium 2 for a while so i went to have a go of it today and all my pokemon are saved in the n64 box. but when i try get to them i plug in my gold version and it says 'leave the console on and remove the transfer pak and then reattach it' so i do that and then it says 'game pack or data has been changed' then it just freezes up. Does anyone know why it is doing this or how I can get past this?

It's Simple You Must Take Your Game To A Local Gamestop They Will Check Your Game If It Works Do The Same With Your Transfer Pak If Not Just Buy A New One.XD
