Subject: joystick troubles

hi
I recently got the game AQUANOX. I like what I see from it, ike the stunning graphics and actio shots. I tried to play the game with the default controls (mouse/keyboard) but it doesn't works rather well for me. Now I wanted to hook my joystick (a logitech wingman extreme) for the game but I can't get the damn thing working. The joystick works fine with lot of other games (like StarWars, WingCommander, , MechWarrior 4 etc) but why not with Aquanox??
I read several articles that it is hard to configure the joystick for Aquanox but I can't find anywhere HOW I have to do so . Anyone can help me ?
I haev a AMDxp 2100, MSI KT3 ultra motherboard, 256 MB DDR -ram, Gforce ti4400 graphics card and Soundblaster life. OS is WINXP, Have Norton AV, Drive Image 8 installed

I can get everything to work on my wingman besides the X and Y axis wich are interchanged, so up and down becomes left and right. Changing it in the controls does not work. Help it is realy pissing me off!

??? For me works from scratch (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro). The only annoying thing are those keys for guns - I have 12 buttons on my stick, but I have to reconfigure it every few missions (when I buy new weapons). They should make keys for choosing gun1/gun2/gun3, not every kind separately. If you need to configure joy - go to settings, choose joystick - yes, and then go into each configuration section. You can select x-axis/y-axis/v-axis (v is for twisting 3D Pro), invertion etc. Viewing controls are for turning, moving directions - for going left/right or up/down (I'm using POV directions here
