Best team is a bunch of overpowered knights with dual wield and Martial arts. Add Blade grasp and teleport to that and your team can never be hit and will lay waste to everyone in a couple turns.
If you are playing the new one then in is Darkness instead of martial arts.

Magic will kill them, dual wield and Martial Arts? you are kidding right? Teleport with a max. range of 4? their movement is limited, they can get pwned with magic. what is there secondary skill? who are they fighting? what stage? how many allies? how many enemies? Human or Monster enemies? what kind of Monster? what class are the human enemies? what is their equipment? THINK!!!

Me, i just love fighting enemies and using my ramza (calculator) to wipe out the enemies in a few moves depending on how many enemies and how many i can hit in 1 turn, i dont try making a perfect team since there's no such things as one, but, its funny how in 1 holy every undead that gets hit with it gets 999 damage ^^

Best Team imo:

- Orlandu Holy Swordsman
- Excalibur
- Escutcheon
- Grand Helmet
- Robe of Lords
- Bracer / Feather Mantle

- Item
- Abandon / Counter
- Attack Up
- Move+3

Lightning Stab > All other moves.

Any team can be beat. I simply like messing with time.
... Except a team of 4 Worker 8's and a Chemist.
Stop with your workers xD

As far as one stable character being "perfect," (I'd rather not go through my whole team)

But my Ramza's a Priest buffed with a Feather Mantle and the Ninja (I believe it's Ninja anyway, I haven't played in almost 9 months...) skill Abadon, which doubles your evade, giving you 80% Physical and 60% magical evade, so you don't exactly have much to worry about. If you do, you can always have the Sunken State reaction ability attached, (For when you are actually hit!). Priest = Heal while invisible, and blow people away with Holy, ect. If I'm actually interested in doing something "odd", I'll give him a second job ability of something pointless like Steal and Run around taking everything from everybody. =p

Move-MP up, also. :3 Never know when you'll need more of that.

Give him a better job. Mages and such are easy to hit. Maybe a Lancer, so he can attack 2 spaces away and his Armor gives him mor HP so he can survive more. Magic maybe as a secondary skill and give him something to increase his HP

I'd say Ramza with 2 Caos Blades, Orlandu with a Caos Blade plus his skills kick ass, Beowulf with Ragnarock(however it's spelled), Worker 8, Cloud, and Delita

My Thief:

- Forgot the Dagger's name
- Escutcheon
- Thief Hat
- Secret Clothes / Power Sleeve
- Feather Mantle

- Whatever
- Abandon
- Equip Shield
- Move+3

Direct physical attacks, or from the sides have 0% success chance, from the back they have 8%.
Most Magic have 8% of chance, also.

my perfect team

worker 8 would use his dispose long shot ability for an instand 180-280hp damage

then orlandu would use his lightning stab for another 480-560hp damage

and if they weren't dead then agrias with her (although weaker than orlandu) lightning stab for about 230hp damage

and if that didnt do it then ramza with his dual excal melee which did around 400hp damage

and if that didnt work i'd use beowulf his petrify move or a melee for about 187hp

i didnt use mustadio as much as people said i should have, honestly i dont think he's that great later on in the game. his gun shots are limited and do little damage and it was difficult for me to catch elemental guns for him. worker 8 was his replacement and faired a lot better. i didn't have to heal anyone because most of everyone had auto potion and i maxxed out on x-potions. if there was needed to be healing ramza would just heal with wish or chakra and that was enough.

The team I played with at end game was (around level 60):
Ramza: Squire
Guts, Draw Out, Counter(or Blade Grasp), Two Swords, Ignore Height
Excaluber, Ragnarok, Theif Hat, Maximillian, Bracer
Use: Deals around 400-600+ with physical attacks, draw out gives him some area attacks, counter is obvious, and somebody should have ignore heights.

Orlando: Holy Swordsman
All Swordskill, (anything), Weapon Guard, (anything), Move +1
Excaluber, Venetien Shield, Theif Hat, Reflect Mail, Feather Mantle
Use: How could I not. Hard as HELL to hit, and is his usual murderous, bad ass self.

Mustadio: Chemist
Item, Snipe, Auto Potion, MagicDEF Up, Move +1
Any Magic Gun, Theif Hat, Power Sleeve, Germinas Boots
Use: Long range hitter, and I like keeping a Chemist around.

Generic: Summoner
Summon, Math Skill, Auto Potion, Short Charge, Teleport
Wizard Rod, Golden Hairpin, Light Robe, Sprint Boots
Use: This gives me a calculator with decent speed and great MA, needed for across the board Flare, Raise 2, Wall, etc. Also has quick summons incase I can't calculate on someone. BTW, I know teleport's not great, but I can't stop myself on this character

Beowulf: Temple Knight
Magic Sword, White/Time Magic, Weapon Gaurd, MagicATK Up, Move MP Up
Rune Sword, Aegis Shield, Grand Helmet, Robe of Lords Feather Mantle
Use: Magic Sword is too good not to use. He's also really hard to hit.

I realize this isn't the most optimized party, but by the time I got Orlando and Beowulf, I just didn't have the patience to get them lots of abilities.... besides, they don't really need it. I also never bothered to replace counter with hamedo for the same reason. This party has:
three or four healers (Ramza, Summoner, Generic, maybe Beowulf) and Orlando self heals;
two revivers (Summoner, Mustadio)
two MAJOR damage dealers (Ramza, Orlando);
one awsome mage (the summon/math set is totally pwning);
two long range attackers (Ramza (that kitch... sword), Mustadio);

I've yet to see a challenge this party couldn't totally anhilate. And thanks to a full party Raise 2 (because the Summoner is hidden out of range), I would bend that worker 8 party over a table and show it a good time.
