One thing we're introducing in here is member portfolios—places to show off what you've done and helped out with. We're not totally sure on the turn out of this, but we hope everyone uses them. Please note these are for sitea that use some server-side scripting language. Feel free to use the Neohome/Website Showcasing and Feedback thread in the HTML forum if you wish to showcase anything else.

Can't have anything fun without rules!
  1. Prefix your thread subject with "[Portfolio]" - Do this to help weed out the portfolios created, and give the forum a nice neat look.
  2. One thread per person - Don't create multiple threads for each website. You may organize different websites in your thread as you wish, but it must be in one thread. Also do not create one thread for SSS related things and one for HTML.
  3. Showcase what you want - I've said website through this post, but that doesn't mean you can only show websites. If you just have some random project, or even a specific piece of code you're proud of, perhaps a class? Anything you want, it's your thread. You CAN show HTML projects/websites if you wish.
  4. No Neohomes - You may not showcase your Neohome in your portfolios. If you want feedback on your Neohome, please refer to the Neohome/Website Showcasing and Feedback in the HTML forum.
  5. Update us on what your portfolio has - Please tell us what your portfolio contains. We want to update the thread caption on whether it contains SSS or HTML, for both for those who only want to browse one type. You can PM us or post in the thread, or on the thread's creation make a note.
Well thats about all I can think of right now. I really encourage anyone who has something to show make a thread for it, I really want people to get involved with each other and generate activity that isn't just people asking for help. Enjoy.

Also feel free to use this thread for any thoughts or questions you may have.

I've cleaned up the thread and updated the list of portfolios. It will continue to stay updated as long as you include "[Portfolio]" in your thread title.

Cheers.

quote Monferno
What languages would they be?
PHP, ASP, JSP, and a few others.

quote
How do you make a portfolio?
Just create a thread in web coding like this: [Portfolio] Monferno.

quote
Do you have to put a site on it reght away?
Not completely sure about that, but I guess it would be nice to have something to show off the instant you make your portfolio.

quote
How do you get your sites onto the web if they are all codes on your computer?
Get a host. Many hosts are free. Then everything you need to do is to upload the files in the host and link them to show your sites.

Server-sided Script = SSS.

What do you mean by 'SSS'?

Yeah, I read, but I though that it would be lame for other people if I would only have a few HTML pages on my portfolio =/.
Thanks.

Might want to read what AR had said one post above yours Yes, HTML is OK, unless it's your neohome.

If I have only created HTML sites so far, can I create a portfolio until I make something with other Server Side Languages?

Announcement:
We've decided that we're changing up the rules for the portfolios and allowing people to include any HTML things they have created - NeoHomes excluded. If you want to include HMTL projects/sites in your portfolios, feel free.

(This should magically show the member portfolios in a couple of seconds. If it doesn't, make sure you have JavaScript enabled.)
