Instead of buying a new weapon with slightly higher att. than the last one and an extra materia slot, there can be a trade-off between att. and materia slots, or between accuracy and a high critical rate (I think that some weapons are more likely to do critical hits than others - the mechanic for that exists). Same goes for armour. Weapons can be made to cause status changes as well, and attack all enemies. Barret's machine guns are good for the last one; the attack can be made to work like magic+all (i.e. switch between all targets an one target and do 2/3 damage when attacking all). In fact, there is even a mechanic in the original game (although it's never used) that allows weapons to attack an opponent's MP, ignore defence and do all sorts of other crazy things.

Finally, they have to do something IMO about some of the overpowered attacks; physical attacks become far too powerful at high levels (who's going to bother casting ultima when slash-all does more damage and doesn't cost MP?). KOTR needs to be weakened in some way, and something also has to be done about the lv.4 limit breaks (perhaps making it take longer to fill the limit bar).

Make those changes as well as the change to the encounter system to a Chrono-Trigger style one and we'd have the perfect battle system.

Nevermind my previous post. They can't even deliver Versus, let alone a VII remake. On the other hand, XIII-3 is coming, making me think SE is a genius troll.

They say that if they manage to make a game that is better/exceeds FF7, then they will consider remaking FF7.

..and if you think about it,they have remade every FF game up until FF6.... soooo.. i think FF6 will be remade before FF7. and not only that, but FF7 has it's 20 year anniversary in 5 years..

....soooo, My thought is that FF7 will have its "phoenix down" on it, in the year 2017.

Just like I said, they're saving it as last resource. So expect it only if Versus (which ironically is also taking forever to come) is "better" than VII, which I easily doubt; or when they're near bankruptcy. Until then, keep dreaming on something else.

Interesting read that but Square enix dont realize that fans will wait a VERY LONG TIME for the remake. So in my oppinion it just comes down to them not bothered to do it.

One day it will happen but not yet.

I never said FF7 remake is one of them, however, you yourself are assuming when you actually know nothing of what is going on at SE. It could be FF7 Remake, there is no proof to deny it or prove it true.

Again FB, Kitase should not and probably will not waste his time helping people with their projects. He will probably get one of his own. My thoughts is that it could be the fourth FNC title, but FFVII is still possible (much more possible than MGS4 going to the 360

)

Ok, fair enough. However, Tabata is the official director with Itou focusing on this game as well. This is THEIR game, I do not know how much of a role Kitase will play, but I highly doubt Kitase's only project after FFXIII is "helping" with Agito. Like I said in the PS3 forum, Kitase is HUGE for Square-Enix, that is almost like if Nomura was only a "helper" for one game out of the many SE games in production.

Kitase will get another project shortly after the completion of FFXIII, how big it will be is up in the air. I personally think he will get a BIG project, but that is my thoughts on the matter.
