"Cid is a tough talking, warm-hearted old pilot who hasn't forgotten his dreams."
Cid is a machine fanatic. He can drive any machine that you can lay before him. He lives in Rocket Town, and was a former employee at Shinra when they had a project to travel to outerspace. This was Cid's life long dream to travel to a place where no other man has been to before, but something happned and the trip was cancelled. Ever since, Cid has been living in that town, just waiting for Shinra to re-open the space program.
Ok so there's a Cid in every FF (who builds/runs/owns the flying ship)but am i right in saying FF7 is the only one where he's a decent playable character. You play as Cid for a while in FF4 but not for as log as you get in FF7.
T.G. Cid (Thunder God Cid) from FF Tactics is a monster once you get him. he could even be better than Ramza. though TG Cid isn't a Dragoon type character in FFT

I'd call the FFVII Cid the first 'established' Cid in the series. FFIV Cid, though very similar to Cid Highwind [he may even have been the inspiration for the creation of Cid Highwind], he wasn't around for long.
And... he lived after that event in the Underground World?

Though i do quite like rouge-ish King Cid in FF9, that frog-man is a legend.

Me too, I rarely used him and when I looked, he is quite strong. Worthless now though

I wish that I'd used Cid more.

Cid Highwind is the best Cid there is in the FF games. He is one of the coolest characters in the series and is useful in battle as well. I used him a lot when I played through my files of FF7. He just has that badass appeal to him.

Obviously my favorite Cid of the entire FF series. No one will ever replace this Cid His trash-talking style reminds me of Stone Cold, heh. Cid's pretty underrated, which is also why I was drawn to him, I like using the underrated characters and show that they have are worth using, etc..
Cid almost always entertained me out of the entire FFVII crew. Great personality xD During FFVII, I usually used him or Yuffie in my three-party line-up (Cloud and Vincent were the other two). Sure was great to control Cid when Tifa and Cloud had to leave the party (Tifa taking care of a sick Cloud). Short time and all, but was still proud of it.
