hmmm... this was inspired by Triple O... is that what he's known as here? ok fine, 000DESTRUCT0. Ok, so squall, we know he's HOT and CUTE!! <3. that's a fact. but did you always thought of him this way? cuz i didnt. it was rather the opposite. So what about you? here's my first impression of him:
At the opening theme: -huh? -who's the good guy? maybe the blonde, no... colour white is usually the bad guy... so mabye the other one - *looks at squall*... nawww... but he's UGLY!! seifer looks more decent! - *squall gets injured*... ok.... squall has to be the good guy then
At the infirmary: - awww how can ugly guy be the main character? and with that ugly scar too :S
As the game progresses: - hmmm... he's actually pretty cute ^^ - he's great!
Now: - how did i ever think he was ugly at first????
So tehre.... my... not so much FIRST impression now... more like... all impressions hehe...

Geez, all these opinions of Squall... the 10,000 piece puzzle.

To be honest, I thought the "hitting" was very Squall-ish. He wasn't exactly in the best mood that night, after all. XD

i thought of it more of a gesture really XD

I've seen three different outcomes to the evening, though, and I am not sure exactly how I made them appear. They might be "set piece good", "set piece bad" and "random instruments".
Theres 2 set good pieces, fast and slow and random instruments. Random she will leave, if you do the fast one and she leaves, you may reload it and do the slow one, she may still leave. i think its alot of chance.

I don't think he tried to hit her. It was more a pushing her away like he did when Seifer touched him at Dollet.

Yeah, Squall wasn't acting himself in that scene, I mean, instead of making some sly remark at Rinoa in her reaction to her teasing him when he's in thought, he nearly hit her! Whether it be a feigned hit or not, it just didn't seem right.

Actually , the thing with the squall -rinoa date, is random, 50-50 no matter which music you play. whether you do the slow one, or the fast one she may still leave. if you just mix a whole bunch of insturments together instead of either of the set pieces then she will leave.
Aha, that sounds logical. I knew the second part but I was unsure on the first part.

Imagine a one-on-one between Ultimecia and Squall. >_>;
Now that would make for a good challenge. Perhaps I should try it one day. Invincibility items would make it easier; without them, I'd have to develop some Meteor strategy (possibly Auto-Potion) to survive some of Griever's / final Ultimecia's attacks.

Anyway, my impression of Squall at the 'concert date thingie': 'Geez, don't be such a klutz! Take a chance, she clearly likes you.'
Yes, I felt the exact same way back then. That scene always gave me a strange uncomfortable feeling.

Hmm... 4 party members would be pushing it in FFVIII, though I did always like that aspect to the earlier games in the series. Anyway, my impression of Squall at the 'concert date thingie': 'Geez, don't be such a klutz! Take a chance, she clearly likes you.'

I don't know...
The two party member thing was okay, with Quistis and Squall, then Irvine and Squall and finally Squall and Rinoa, but personally I did like the three party members. I guess the option to have less would have been interesting and added a bit of a challenge.

Speaking of Squall and Rinoa... has anyone but me ever intentionally tried many different instrument combinations (FH festival) just to see what possible outcomes the Squall-Rinoa "date" could have?
I done it 3 times, changed different instruments, but tbh I didn't see any difference. apparently there is certain instruments you need to choose in order to change the outcome of Rinoas and Squalls date, I will try it on the next playthrough. I, Personally enjoyed the music, had a good rythm to it
