I heard in the opening scene of Vice City, Vic Vance dies in the police raid as drugs are being dealt. I was interested and so I dusted off Vice City and stuck it in the PS2, watched the opening scene, but didn't see Vic. Anywhere. I am assuming that Vic was the guy who had the briefcase and told Tommy that he had a deal, and if that was Vic, then;

A. It looked NOTHING like him
B. Even if it was him, why did he look so old? There were only 2 years between Vice City and Vice City stories, and finally;
C. Why was his voice different in the two versions of the game?

I am curious now, can someone clear this up? Sadly I can't find a picture of GTA Vice City 1's version of Vic.

Holy crap. Are you really all that ignorant? Rockstar Games themselves have officially confirmed Victor Vance to be dead; killed during Vice City's intro.

I think this should dispel the rumours once and for all. OFFICIALLY, Rockstar have stated that Victor Vance is indeed dead, and this occurred IN VICE CITY.

quote Rockstar Games
"Hey Rockstar! I've been a huge fan of Vice City... and was wondering; is that Victor Vance who is gunned down in the intro of Vice City? All sources seem to say "yes", but no official word has been given on that." - received via Mouthoff

Yup... that's Vic. After having been dragged back into the Vice City criminal underworld by his brother Lance following the events of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Vic Vance dies in the ambush that occurs in the opening scene of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

What? They said he's dead?That guy doesn't even look close......
If they are to use Beta version reference,why didn't they release VCS like the beta version?

the reason rosenberg left tommy is because tommy establishes his own empire in vice city and rosenberg leaves after tommy seizes control.I got this information in a playstaion magazine.
Rosenberg left Vice City because Tommy sent him to a drug rehab center in san andreas because Tommy was sick of him getting high off of cocaine all the time..

Now im starting to think it is Vic Vance thats killed because lance says "And my dead brothers White lady" in the mission where you kill the chef and the quote is obviously Referring To Louise who gets killed in Light My Pyre

So Think People!!!

From Wikipedia

"Another theory is that the man killed in the cutscene is Pete Vance (Lance and Victor's older brother), as it was said at the end of the game that Victor was departing from his life of crime. The man killed had a Dominican accent, which is something Victor does not have, even though he has Dominican ancestry. The man also had a obese build, something Victor did not have"

I find it a bit weird that Rockstar would have Vic Vance as the guy you play as in GTA: VCS when, if you look at the opening cutscene (which I didn't the first time round), Vic dies and we already know that when playing VCS... something like that. It'd be like playing as CJ's dad in San Andreas Stories (are R* making that?) because CJ's dad is dead at the start of the original SA.
even though vcs cam out after vc, vcs takes place 2 years before vc
