Konnichiwa, you might recognize me from one of the other Nippon Ichi forums, such as Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, Makai Kingdom, and to a lesser extent, Phantom brave...
Anyhow, even though there arn't a lot of changes for this PSP incarnation of our beloved Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, there is supposed to be new stuff...what? I'm not sure...Possibly new unlockable characters, different music, and hopefully, new areas ^_^
Even though I've put around 270 hours into the PS2 version, I intend to get this one...or rather, the North American release version ^_^;;
wow now im confused all i did was go into the reg quests and item wortld like a bazhilion times and i bought basicly the highest dmg wep in the shop i was just asking of there were more then those lol.
Since you say the best weapon you bought was about 800+ attack, I assume you've raised product rank? I think the highest rank is product rank 12 >_>
At that point, (primary offensive) stats on weapons are generally 1000+

Are the most expensive swords the best ones cuz i got one and it does like 800+dmg toke forever to save up for and how do u unlock more weponds?
I believe the most expensive weapons are two ranks lower than the best weapons(other than the rank 41 demon weapon).
In order to get the higher ranked weapons that aren't availible in stores you must travel through item world in high level items. They'll either show up in the bonus gauge or an enemy will be holding the weapon.(Not a detailed report, but it does answer your question nea?)
Yes, the most expensive items you can buy are (for weapons and armor) two ranks below the best (So rank 38 weapons/armor)....
I think it is the same for Monster weapons >_> Either that, or just goes up to rank 37...Two unique types are Nemesis (only one of them) and Nemesis Mk II (can get multiples)....
I think it is the same for armor >_> Super Robo suit, there is only one of them, but the Prinny Suit, there is unlimited numbers of those....
I THINK you can get the Legendary versions of weapons/armor (aside from the top ones that you have to do special stuff to get) simply by going to high level dungeons....High level item world is one place, but high level bonus dungeons are too >_>

Yes and no....There are 40 different main sword types (One sword per rank), and at ranks 1 - 39, there are 3 rarity versions (Normal, Rare, and Legendary) per weapon (so 117), and at rank 40, there is only one rarity, so that is just one version...So 117 + 1 = 118 different sword types....that isn't counting the varying number, level, and type of specialists in a given weapon, those are essentially random (certain specialist types appear regularly, in certain weapons)....
This applies to all weapons (# of versions, and specialist business)....And to a slightly lesser degree, to armor as well (Rank 39 and 40 both only have one rarity version, I think)....

I am a huge fan of all the dot hack series read the books watched the anime games take along time to play but i like them ive played gu and i still like it regardless of what everyone else says lol my friends hate it im trying to get a copy but they have been out of stock for some time now.

Hello everyone i finaly got this game after loading it on my comp to my psp it seems like alot of fun i just finished the mid-boss just curious but how many more sword weaponds are they unlocked later?

Welcome to the Disgaea forum for PSP. Most of your characters will die with one hit or more if your def/hp stats aren't high enough.
Play disgaea for the mayhem only lol.

I will be posting about that little problem. I'm also just returning to the gaming scene. I've been away for a long long time.
