quote Devil_SpankalotI agree with that notion on the prospect of not relying solely on the Unique Unit, as that may not even work against the harder difficulty AI.I guess the safer strategy is NOT to rely too much and invest too much on Unique Unit in the castles, such as
Mameluke for Saracen, Plumed Archer for Mayan or War Elephant for Persian, esp when playing against
decent players who's probably already preparing counters for this Unique Unit right from the get-go.
Only Briton must rely and invest heavily on their Unique Unit (Longbowmen). Because they don't have other
choice. They can't get Thumb Ring and Parthian Tactic (2 important techs). Their Cav Archers and
Crossbowmen look intimidating alright but what's the point of massing 40 of them when it took 40 of them to kill
a runaway villager. The Briton don't have Hussar, don't have gunpowder units, their monks can't convert
buildings or other monks, and no bombard towers for the Queen's men. It's reasonable that they make the most
of their Elite Longbowmen, because that's all they got for survival in late game. They move like a tank,
destroying everything in their path, when they're in great number. The 6+6 range on them can only be rivaled by
Korean's Siege Onager. Until Goth's Huskarls come along, boasting 2+8 pierce armour on them.
And the story goes again: Goths own Briton. Viking owns Goths.

The Mongols are useless...
Saracens have mamelukes which are quite good....
quote AdneyThis probably explains why you find Spanish useless. Spanish don't have good archers; no arbalests. But who
Among the archers i prefer the chinese Chu ko nu over the long bowmen. I love their rapid firing and can take down an enemy fast.
